‘I’m Like A Bird’ belter Nelly Furtado gives a new meaning to ‘getting high’ on set of her new video ‘Big Hoops (The Bigger, The Better)‘.  The Canadian hitmaker is said to be readying the visual to accompany the lead single from her forthcoming new album – due summer 2012.

Certainly turning many-a-head in Los Angeles yesterday during the shoot, the songstress towered over extras and bystanders in the chic black outfit which concealed her frightening, heightening stilts.

Fans of triple threat diva Jennifer Lopez have a new reason to get on the floor as moments ago she took to American Idol to unveil the steamy visual for her latest single ‘Dance Again’.  The dance-heavy track is a hitmaking reunion of sorts with ‘Floor’s’ full cast – J.Lo, rapper Pitbull, and Redone.

Said to be the first single from her forthcoming greatest hits package, does ‘Dance Again’ have what it takes to put Miss Lopez atop charts again?

Alicia Keys is back!

The 14-time Grammy winner is reportedly hard at work at (what could very well be) her next award-winning, yet titled LP.  While Miss Beatz has long teased fans with news of her nearly completed follow-up to 2009’s ‘Element of Freedom’, everything else has been kept under tight lock.

Where we have seen Keys, however, is fronting many-a-social issue campaign.  From Africa to New York’s inner city youth, the songbird has spread her philanthropic wing to touch many causes and outlines them all in VIBE magazine’s forthcoming, 2nd annual ‘Global Issue’.

On last night’s ‘American Idol‘, Jessica Sanchez raised the bar to a whole new level, with a cover of Whitney Houston‘s classic ‘How Will I Know’.

Who would have thought that in spite of her immense talent as a singer and songwriter, ‘Kandi the Reality Star’ would be more successful than ‘Kandi the Artist’. Her resurgence in popularity in relevance thanks to Bravo‘s RHOA confirm the above statement.

Apparently Bravo agrees. The premium cable network has green-lit Kandi’s ‘The Kandi Factory’ for a full season. The series will document the ‘Fly Above’ vocalist’s attempt to transform a local pop star hopeful into the real thing…for a day. While this is a terrific coup for Kandi, we can’t help but feel underwhelmed as a series documenting the recording of her next studio album would have been more more appreciated.

Last month Bravo did a test run of the series running a one time special which garnered over 1.3 million viewers. Congratulations, Kandi girl!
