The emergence of multiple lawsuits since her catapult to the top of charts is showing Cardi B there are many prices to fame.

Just a week after the world learned her former manager, Klenord Raphael, sued her for $10 million (click here to read more on that), news is indicating a previous headline-grabbing lawsuit – filed to the tune of $5 million – will be moving forward despite the rapstress’s legal teams attempt to stop it.

In this case, the plaintiff – Kevin Brophy Jr – claims Cardi used his likeness without his permission and, in the process, put him in a “submissive and embarrassing position.”  Details inside:

Cardi B‘s domination of the Billboard charts is nothing short of historic.

The “Trap Selena,” who dominated headlines over the weekend for her show-stopping P-popping (while pregnant) at Coachella (click here for more on that), also saw her name float atop headlines for the chart-performance of her debut album – the highly anticipated ‘Invasion of Privacy.’ Wreaking havoc on both Hot 100 and Billboard 200 charts respectively, the set’s entrance brought with it some seriously record breaking feats – namely those previously set by Coachella’s biggest story:  Beyonce.

According to reports, ‘Privacy’:

  • Entered charts with the largest on-demand audio streaming week ever for an album by a woman (202.6 million streams)
  • Logged the biggest streaming week for a debut studio album
    • Trumping Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Luv Is Rage 2’ (150.6 million streams)
  • Saw most of its tracks chart, helping give Cardi 13 simultaneous Hot 100 placements overall
    • Besting Bey’s 12 tracks found on ‘Lemonade’ (the ‘Formation’-led album remains the first project by a woman to simultaneously chart all its songs).

Congratulations are certainly due to the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ alum!  Look inside to see who joined her in the top 25 on both charts:

Despite years of grinding, Cardi B‘s ascend to the upper echelon of the music industry has been all sorts of rapid.

Turbo-charged by 2017’s ‘Bodak Yellow’ and a string of smash hit collaborations, the 25-year-old rocketed into the hearts, ears, and minds of the masses at lightening speed.

But it hasn’t been without its drawbacks.

In a stunning feature spread for GQ‘s May issue, Cardi opens up about how her life has changed, the drawbacks of success, and the risky measures she took to enhance her look.

She also revealed that she gets shy when meeting other stars – namely Beyonce, who she says almost made her “sh*t on herself”. And yes, those are her exact words.

BET’s ratings giant – ‘The New Edition Story’ miniseries – is certainly a tough act to follow, but that doesn’t mean the network won’t pull out all the stops trying.  As previously announced, the follow-up to the showing will come in the form of group member Bobby Brown‘s solo biopic.

Reportedly filling in the blanks and picking up where ‘New Edition’ left off, the ‘Bobby Brown Story’ will also detail the singer’s battle with alcohol and drug addiction, numerous jail stints, and, of course, his infamously tumultuous marriage to late pop icon Whitney Houston.

Set for a fall 2018 premiere, the film will see ‘New Edition Story’ star Woody McClain reprise his role as Bobby Brown and ‘The Game’ star Gabrielle Dennis portray Houston (as we reported here).  Filled out by an all-star cast that also features the likes of Mekhi Phifer, Laz Alonso, Lance Gross, and many more, anticipation for the forthcoming feature – already at a feverish pitch – will certainly go into overdrive once fans cop a gander at recently released photos from the set.

April 6th 2018 will bring with it the unveiling of Cardi B‘s hotly anticipated debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy.’

Set to make magic for the star as far as streaming is concerned, the set is powered by its smash hit launch single ‘Bodak Yellow‘ and its follow-up ‘Bartier Cardi‘ which- despite soaring on Spotify- has struggled to retain a spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

Fortunately, the same is unlikely to be the case for her latest effort ‘Be Careful‘ which has already claimed the top spot on iTunes!

Alas, trouble for the jam and Cardi’s credibility as a rapper for is brewing. At the heart of the storm?

Katy Perry‘s latest album, ‘Witness,’ may have been universally panned on the critical and commercial front but that certainly hasn’t stopped the pop diva from looking to turn that tide.

Yes, she is keeping busy promoting ‘American Idol’ in the U.S., but while the show’s currently airing its pre-taped episodes Perry hopped across the pond to Japan to give them a live version of ‘Witness’ bonus cut, ‘Act My Age.’ Fans familiar with the tune remember it is featured on the Target-only/international/deluxe edition of the LP.

The performance came just minutes before the Grammy-nominee participated in a game where she forced several chicken nuggets in her mouth.  The feat, one of the more awkward televised moments of the 33-year-old’s career, almost induced vomit – undoubtedly giving the singer a glimpse into the feels some of her ‘Witness’ era content imposed on listeners.
