Much like our ‘Retro Rewind’ and ‘From the Vault’ segments, readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.  So in a quest to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday we introduced a new retrospective segment – ‘TGJ Replay’.

Unlike its ‘Rewind’ and ‘Vault’ predecessors, ‘Replay’ looks to dust off and showcase albums (and eras) from a library of pop music hits.  Finally, we go back to Next Selection/Bad Boy beauty Cassie‘s eponymous debut…

As he gears up for the September 17th release of his new album ‘Nothing Was The Same‘, Drake‘s found himself on the receiving end of a ‘gift’ this weekend…sent to him by ‘A Girl Like Me’ singer Rihanna.

Indeed, while her time would have been better spent cleaning up ‘dem vocals’, the performer shared an Instagram video of herself shaking her ‘donk’ to the performer’s ‘Problems‘- a song led by A$AP Rocky.

As if the heavy dose of girl power announced earlier wasn’t enough to send viewers into a frenzy for this year’s BET Awards, it appears the folks at BET just keep adding more ingredients to the pot.

Indeed, Grammy winning songbird India.Arie – whose new album ‘Songversation’ hits shelves June 25th – just saw her name added to the bill’s line-up of performers.  The news was shared not long after Arie shared the album’s tracklist with fans.

With Urban radio helping the cut generate further steam this year, Elijah Blake‘s ‘XOX’ has found a new home in mass media company Viacom this week.

For, in continuing on in their efforts to shine light and support new talent, the company have inked a deal with  The Island Def Jam Group, ROC Nation and Stephen Hill‘s BET  to premiere and place the single’s video on heavy rotation on the latter company…this week.

With Hurricane Beyonce fast approaching, it seems her one time heir apparent Rihanna has smartened up and decide to work on that voice.

We kid you not.

Last night, for the first time since performing ‘Stay on X Factor UK last winter, the Pop Princess served a decent vocal showing at the Montreal outing of her ‘Diamonds World Tour’, despite arriving 70 minutes after initially scheduled.

Sure, while her voice is still enough to strike fear in the drum of many an unsuspecting ear, her delivery yesterday evening was kind of decent- clearly inspired by the acclaim afforded to real vocalists like Rita Ora, Ciara and of course…Queen Beyonce.
