‘Power Book II: Ghost’ is back for season 3 and That Grape Juice teamed up with Lionsgate+ to host an exclusive launch screening in Central London.

The latest installment of the hit series follows Tariq in his new life as he attempts to shed his father’s legacy and save his family. Indeed, he now faces his toughest challenge yet: “level up or lose it all.”

Michael Rainey Jr. returns in the lead role of Tariq, and stars alongside the likes of  Mary J. Blige, Method Man, Shane Johnson, Gianni Paolo, and Woody McClain.

The event saw our guests become some of the first in the country to see the season – which easily serves its most compelling chapter yet.

Hosted by Jourds, the night saw invitees treated to drinks courtesy of Havana Rum, Luc Belaire, and Villon.

Shake Shack UK served delicious burgers from their sought-after range.

Guests also took home goodie bags featuring must-haves from Palmers, High Water, HiP Chocolate, AfroPop Socks, Proper, Koba, Sauce Shop,  Love Corn, and The Lab Co.

Readers of That Grape Juice know how passionate we are about music – whether that be past or present.

However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.

This week, we want to highlight cuts from Fall Out Boy, Rosalia & Rauw Alejandro, NCT Dream, and Catie Turner .

Omarion may have spent most of the week garnering headlines for the jaw-dropping confessions found aboard his five-part docuseries, ALLBLK’s ‘Omega: The Gift & The Curse,’ but now the GRAMMY nominee is looking to redirect the attention to his musical endeavors – namely the heavily teased new track ‘Big Vibez.’

“Girl, you lookin’ in that Louie (Aye) / You should bring a friend that’s a two-piece / Dinner movie at my place and movie / And for dessert I wanna taste / Spread yo legs and feed my face,” O croons on the sexy cut.

Ciara‘s latest era, the long-awaited follow-up to 2019’s ‘Beauty Marks,’ is still in full effect and showing no sign of slowing.

After delivering up-tempo cuts ‘Jump‘ and ‘Better Thangs,’ as well as previewing the Big Freedia-assisted ‘Winning,’ the GRAMMY-winning diva has unloaded yet another winner in the form of slow jam ‘Da Girls.’

The amply-teased women’s empowerment anthem lives up to its title sonically and lyrically.

“This is for the girls getting money (Ayy) / This is for the girls who don’t need no man / This is for the girls who love yourself / This is for all the girls who up and did it by themselves / This is for all the girls that’s I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T,” she croons on the cut’s OG Parker-produced chorus.

Three years after Lucky Daye called upon fellow singer-songwriter Victoria Monet to guest on the warmly-received ‘Little More Time’ (found aboard the deluxe edition of his 2019 debut album ‘Painted‘), the dynamic duo reverse roles for her new single, ‘Smoke.’

Produced by Academy and GRAMMY Award-winning producer D’Mile, the island-flavored ‘Smoke’ comes as the first single from Monet’s forthcoming ‘Jaguar II‘ project – the conceptual follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2020 EP ‘Jaguar‘ – and sees her trade verses with Daye laden with metaphors about puff-puff-passing.

“Little fireworks that light up for me / In my finger tips I burn my worries / Do it somethin’ like that eight track shorty / Keep it in rotation, it’s a celebration every time we smoke, smoke,” the two croon.

Ahead of the arrival of the newest addition to Ed Sheeran‘s wildly popular mathematically-titled albums, ‘-‘ (Subtract), the singer-songwriter is giving his dedicated fans (affectionately called #Sheerios) their first taste of what the project is set to serve.

The heavily teased ‘Eyes Closed,’ a tribute song to the GRAMMY winner’s late friend Jamal Edwards, acts as the LP’s first official single.

“This song is about losing someone, feeling like every time you go out and you expect to just bump into them, and every thing just reminds you of them and things you did together. You sorta have to take yourself out of reality sometimes to numb the pain of loss, but certain things just bring you right back into it,” Sheeran shared about the song before its March 24 arrival.

As promised by the Whitney Houston estate, 2023 will be filled with celebrations and headline-grabbing events to commemorate what would’ve been the diva’s 60th year of life.

In addition to perfume and cosmetics lines, television ventures, and a biographical Broadway play in the works (as we reported here), the Pop icon’s dedicated fans – affectionately called #Nippians – can expect to hear unvaulted tunes spread across multiple “new” albums.

The first in that stead comes courtesy of ‘I Go to the Rock: The Gospel Music of Whitney Houston.’

Her love for gospel music permeates through every song with love, compassion and conviction. To love Whitney is to love what she represents to all that love the gospel. I salute this project knowing that Whitney always stood on a solid rock for her love of gospel music,” said Pat Houston, the executor Whitney’s estate, in an official statement.

A 12-track collection lined with fan favorites like ‘Jesus Loves Me’ (from 1992’s ‘The Bodyguard’ soundtrack) as well as ‘I Go to the Rock,’ ‘I Love the Lord,’ and ‘Joy to the World’ (from 1996’s ‘Preacher’s Wife’ soundtrack), ‘Rock’ also includes six unreleased song including a live ‘VH1 Honors’ version of Simon & Garfunkel‘s classic ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ (with CeCe Winans), I Found a Wonderful Way,’ ‘He Can Use Me,’ and more.

From ‘Sweet Thing’ to ‘I Feel For You,’ ‘Through the Fire,’ ‘Tell Me Something Good,’ and many more, Queen of Funk Chaka Khan has blessed R&B with some of its most memorable numbers over the last five decades.

Yet, despite her hits and soaring vocal displays earning copious critical acclaim and inspiring generations of singers after her, it’s criminal (but factual) to say the 10-time GRAMMY winner’s prized catalog hasn’t seen that fanfare reflected commercially.

However, a recent announcement from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is proving to be an overdue step in the right direction.
