Once the Buffy to Rihanna‘s Faith, the latest era of Beyonce‘s career has seen her swerve into the the ‘Pour It Up‘ singer’s “crazy, sexy, cool” lane and- if we’re being really honest- beat her at own game.

The result? A cooler and far more relatable Beyonce sat at the top of the brand arguably fresher today than it ever has been.

That might be one way to explain why her latest single ‘7/11 now sits atop Urban radio this week, becoming the fifth bop lifted from her ‘Beyonce‘ campaign to do so.

It success comes as the album’s Urban singles continue to outperform its Pop siblings, topping the Urban radio tally after the Hip Hop single ‘Drunk in Love’ outperformed the Ryan Tedder- penned ‘XOon the Billboard Hot 100.

Q: Is it someone who’s on one of your records?

A: Hmmm. That’s funny should ask. Let’s just say I’ve been familiar with them before in a roundabout way.”

Iggy Azalea is taking to Twitter yet again to defend herself from naysayers who aren’t exactly on board with her brand of hip hop.

For, just days ago, rapper Eve and songstress Jill Scott joined the ranks of a growing list of emcees and entertainers including Q-Tip, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, Azealia Banks, Eminem, and more, who have expressed displeasure with the Aussie hitmaker’s “blaccent” (Black accent) and overall image.

Their message did not fall on deaf ears, however.  And, despite not singling the ‘With This Ring’ duo out, it’s pretty clear the two were included in Azalea’s mass reminder and defense of her authenticity.
