As Ashanti preps her new album ‘The Declaration’ (due for an October release), this new song featuring Nelly – apparently the lead single – has surfaced. I’m kinda thrown by this one; she went in a different direction with ‘Switch’ and I give her props for doing so. The song is pretty catchy – I’m liking the swagger in her delivery and Nelly’s feature on the hook. Having said that, I see the single either growing on the listener or tanking – no middle ground. It’s not that the track is poor, it has more to do with the feeling that Ashanti should come with something harder than this as a first single.
Hit or Miss?

This is definitely a miss! She is just following a formula already prescribed for many other R&B artists… (The down, ghetto, & gangsta chick)

BEAT SWAGG AND MELODY GREAT. LYRICS ARE SAME OLE SAME OLE.
IN ALL I THINK IT’S GOOD. BUT THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IS STILL HATING ON ANYBODY WHO IS NOT BEYONCE. I GUESS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CIARA.

Wussup y’all… yo this is just a joint that leaked (which isvery common these dayz, ya dig). Anywayz, it leaked LAST week or so.
Not only that, just a couple of dayz ago on the BET Awards (Tues. Jun-26th-o7), Ashanti was interviewed after the show, and said she was puttin’ the finishing touches on her album — SHE and her record label are currently deciding on da (actual) FIRST SINGLE.
btw… I’m really feelin’ this Website, y’all keep doin’ ya’ thang mayne (ya dig, 1ne).

That does not sound like a beyonce song. I love it. It’s different for Shani. I can imagine it on alot of myspace pages. It’s suppose to be just a BUZZ song NOT A SINGLE…

THIS A SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT THE SONG (ASHANTI!)SO WHY IN THE HELL ARE YOU PUTTING BEYONCE’S NAME IN IT,DAMN GIVE HER A BREAK, WHEN SHE’S DOING SOMETHING IT’S WRONG AND YALL TALK TRASH ABOUT HER AND WHEN SHE’S NOT DOING SOMETHING YALL STILL TALK TRASH ABOUT HER..GET A LIFE……)AND YALL SAY SHE’S OVER-EXPOSED) HA HA YALL ARE MAKING HER, SPENDING YOUR PRECIOUS,VALUABLE TIME PUTTING HER NAME IN SOMETHING THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HER.
Hmmmmmm..U GUYS MAKE ME WONDER

It took me only a second listen to realize I love it, it’s only a fun track, it’s clearly not meant to be deep. I respect Ashanti for trying something different, can’t wait for the album.

I’m no ashanti fan, but I’m really feeling this joint!
We all need to support black music or else the labels will drop all of them! Stop downloading and buy the albums!!!!!!
