Kelly Rowland Collapses During Performance
Here’s a concert goer’s account of what went down:
She was all up on the stage shaking her booty to “Say My Name” and I look away for a split second and then I see her lying on the stage. At first, I thought it was part of the act especially when one of her dancers started jumping around super-dramatically but then stage crew started running towards her and then some This Day folks including This Day publisher, Nduka Obaigbena were on the stage forming a ring round her to prevent the audience from seeing what the medical emergency crew were doing and then we knew it was real. Damn! The audience began chanting “Ke-lly, Ke-lly, Ke-lly!” in the hope of encouraging her on. The emergency operation went on for about 15 minutes before she was finally carried off the stage, I’m assuming on a strecher, since she was completely surrounded by the people on the stage. She defintely didn’t get up and walk off herself, that I know for sure. Later on, Nduka Obaigbena came out and said she was okay and she sent her love and was very sorry for not being able to complete her set.Speaking of which, her set was actually quite fun and energetic despite what seemed like a lot of people’s apprehensions (including mine) about her ability as an exciting live performer.
Reps for Kelly are citing dehydration as the cause, yet some media outlets are questioning the timing of the fall (suggesting it may be a publicity stunt to generate interest in her new CD). Having been to Nigeria myself -my parents hail from there – I know how HOT it can get over there. Aside from that, Kelly has been promoting her album non-stop recently so it’s bound to tell on her sooner or later. It’s pretty insensitive on the part of some reporters to assume it was all a ploy – cut the girl some slack already. I’m just hoping all is well with her and she makes a speedy recovery.

omg that looks awful. I hope she’s alright! She’s lucky though… if Mariah Carey would have collapsed on stage, people would have said she was mentally unstable, insane, taking pills, and that she was trying to kill herself.

Naww I think she fainted, celebs when they doing a stunt especially the girls they walk around making out with the man or their nipple accidently on purposes shows or the expose their bits, and the fellas like TI get into a fight or throw someone off stage,
I think she fainted she’s been around like crazy, and after a while it can catch up, if it was fake she would act it better than that, I think she just fainted and she must have hit her head a bit that’s why they were panicked

I feel so bad for Kelly. She’s working so hard to keep up with the popularity she had with Destiny’s Child, but it seems like the world’s taking no interest, despite the fact she can actually hold her own.

For anyone to say that was an act is a dumbass and VERY cruel. She fuckin’ fainted. if she wanted promotion she would have finished the set. Plus why would she waste her time @ the hospital??? Dumbasses who say that it’s an act are going to HELL.

SO ridiculous for the media to say something DUMB like it was a promotional gimmick…..stupid!! Anyways reports on her website http://www.kellyrowland.com says that all is well with Ms. Kelly and I’m really happy to hear that!

That’s really unnerving and I’m glad she’s ok. I don’t believe the hydration – wouldn’t a singer drink fluids in order to perform? However, I can agree with people who cited exhaustion from her travel schedule or from being around different altitudes, etc, too much. – Alexis

Kelly I love you. Take it easy. Just because you’re from GA/TX…doesn’t mean you can take Nigerian heat. The cd’s HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT…way better than “Simply a Mess”….I mean…Simply Deep….go cop it!

common that is so dumb for people to say this is a plot, But when i am leaving comments i love to say the fact. u know i have been to nigeria several times as a matter of fact i am from nigeria and trust me if u have lived in houston u can live in nigeria cos it is hot and humid in houston while it is just hot nigeria.Kelly’s collapsing trust ne , she is the only one that can say why probably not eating right cos dehydration is not only caused by heat. i bought the album no deifference from her simply deep trust me, anyone that says it is off da chians blah blah thats a lie somewhat like simply deep. I honeslty think kelly should be kelly and not what the media wants her to be or her fans want her to be. this collapsing thing she could have died. She has put an album promote it yes but dont over load yourself. Kelly is on every show, evey news, etc she is basically everywhere to promote this album the only was the album can go far is word of mouth, not performing everywhere. With the heavy load of performance the album is still not doing well. In less than 2weeks it has been kicked out of the UK charts. I hope it will last for a month in the US charts according to wikipedia it failed to debut top40 at most charts. I am not dissing her obviously but u know kelly needs to take a break and thank God the album is finally out. I listen to lyrics to say an album is great. not just nice beating or the person is cute nah. Lyrics to like this makes no sense, comeback makes no sense,only her ballads are reasonable but boring. Trust me anyone that knows music would honestly say simply deep was abetter album and that shows on the charts. love y’all

That was horrible. She probably didnt eat or drink before the show and didnt have enough energy. That happened to a friend of mine as a result of being pregnant and not knowing it. I hope Kelly is not pregnant.

Kelly Rowland had asthma so maybe her fainting had something to do with that. I dont think Kelly is pregnant.
