‘Womanizer’ Rockets To #1

Britney Spears’ really does seem poised for a major comeback, after her current single ‘Womanizer’ hit the #1 spot this week on the Billboard Hot 100:

Another week, another record-breaking jump to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Britney Spears makes a near-maximum 96-1 rise with “Womanizer,” returning to the top of the list for the first time since her debut single “…Baby One More Time” hit No. 1 in January 1999.

This is the third time in the past two months that the mark for the biggest jump to No. 1 has been shattered. On the Hot 100 dated Sept. 6, T.I. soared 71-1 with “Whatever You Like” and last week he sprinted 80-1 with “Live Your Life.”

Spears’ single is spurred by first-week download sales of 286,000, the biggest opening-week tally by a female artist since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking digital downloads in 2003, besting Mariah Carey’s take for “Touch My Body” by just over 200 units. {Source}

Though the song is rubbish IMO, I’m still real happy for her – considering the drama of the last few years. More power to her!

YAAAAAAY!! This is exactly what Britney needs, and in my opinion I think the song and video are both flippin’ fantastic. She will get a number one in the UK as well no doubt about it.

I can’t believe this is her second number 1 in the states, She’s had more number 1s in the UK, This ain’t her best song but because it has taken her so long to hit the top spot with a single then she deserve it but I still think the song is CRAP, no not a hater but a EX Britney Fan, lol

I am really happy for Britney. I do not like the song or the video as I believe it is an average video and not her best. But because she is putting more of an effort into than she has with her previous work, then I say GO GIRL!

Some opinions should be kept quiet. Britney doesn’t have the fanbase she used to. It is much smaller…but she is breaking records here. Obviously this is a good song in hundreds of thousands (n the US alone) peoples opinions. So when you say that this song is CRAP, it makes you sound a little out of touch.

I love Britney but I am gonna keep it real- the main reason why this song is so successful is because it’s by Britney and everyone wants her to make a comeback due to her recent mental breakdown. Okay song but it’s clear why it’s so successful she’s profiting off of her breakdown. I’m not hating go girl get that money! But you stans/fans need to keep it real. @Johnnyhco yes it did so I guess I’ll call you crazy or in denial.
I am happy for her though.

^That is the most dumbest thing I have ever heard. If ppl wanted her to comeback then they would have supported her last two singles, dont you think? Face it, the song is #1 b/c ppl love it. Noone is going to pay for a song they dislike, get real. And no way is she profiting off her breakdown LOL, smh . All she is doing is putting effort into her videos again and caring this time around. She is moving forward in her career and being herself again and ppl have took notice . The Britney the public all fell inlove with is back . Stop trying to make it seem like this #1 is not legit when infact, It IS.

Congrats Britney, you deserved it.
