Trey Songz made a surprising announcement at last evening’s MTV VMAs. The aspiring porn star singer revealed that he will be joining Usher’s ‘OMG’ tour as a supporting act. The show launches on November 10th in Seattle, giving Songz enough time to recover from his ‘Passion, Pain & Pleasure’ tour with Monica which ends this week.
4 albums released and Songz is still serving as an opening act for someone else? Then again, he only has 1 top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100 and only 1 certified album so it’s not surprising. The neighbours might know his name but they don’t know it well enough to buy a ticket to 1 of his solo concerts (or watch his failed reality show).

Speaking of Trey, his 4th album “Passion, Pain & Pleasure” is releasing tomorrow and the only type of promo that I’ve seen of this album is a commercial on MTV that came on before the VMAs yesterday (that flop reality show of his does not count.) So, I’m curious to see how his stats will turn out next week.

I can’t lie I’m a little salty because I really wanted CB to tour with Usher. I think Trey is talented and has his fans but I selfishly want to see CB. No need to really shade Trey though; he works hard too and deserves to see the fruits of his labor pay off. Who says all 3 can’t be great in the R&B/pop world? CB and Tyga will tour together towards the end of this year so I will be looking out for that tour definitely. I’ve seen CB live and he can sing and entertain truly.

Um, I don’t think I have a problem with Trey going on tour with Usher, but the problem is that this is his THIRD tour within the last year and a half. Dude, people get tired of hearing the same songs every single tour. Yeah, he’ll be on his fourth album, but he doesn’t have a good enough discography to keep people interested in him every single time he performs. I seen him for the Blueprint 3 stop in New Orleans, and he was just okay. I prefered him when he came to my college homecoming concert because it was a lot more personable and this was surprisingly before his best album (my favorite) ‘Ready’. That’s more of his type of setting in my opinion. I don’t particularly like his voice (straining/excessive vibrato) but not gonna lie, he sounds just like he does on his record (aside from the BET awards).
Anyway, I don’t think the people (females) who went to the Blueprint 3 tour AND his PPP tour will want to see him AGAIN performing the same exact material, the same exact way. But good luck.

At first I was considering going when Usher was coming to Vegas, but now with Mr. Songz I most likely wont go. I don’t really know his material enough to enjoy myself and his performance level is not quite where I’d like to pay to watch. His head bobbing and super fast vibrato would leave me laughing.

Besides his reality show that got low ratings, his tour with Monica did well & I am sure that will help with sales. But ‘Bottom’s Up’ really isn’t tearing up the charts. Has ‘Can’t Be Friends’ made a debut yet?? He probably needs this tour for more promo for his album but I am worried he is gonna flop on this album.
Like someone said earlier, maybe CB will do some guest appearances, that would be nice. Plus CB will be releasing a new album next year so I am sure he will do a bigger tour then. We’ll just have to wait. *sigh*

Chris Brown is just a hyper street dancer, his technique is very rough. Usher on the other hand is the best, he moves effortlessly, and makes it look easy. Nothing is forceful. Chris Brown has an annoying singing voice. Yeah he can entertain and has some good songs, but thats about it. Usher is one of the biggest most influential male R&b artists period. His new album is great and platinum, which keeps on churning out smash after smash.
Usher is what this industry is all about.
Chris cannot command a certain amount of money just because he finally gets 1 #1 R&b hit. Usher isn’t intimidated by no one. Theres no need to be. He is mounds ahead of the field. Trey has some good music. Bottoms Up’ is a hit. I don’t know what u people are talking about. He should have said that his album was coming out this week on the Mtv awards, i guess that was his reason for being there.
But his tour with Monica should have definitely been Monica starring Trey Songs, Monica is a bonafied star, who has sold millions. Trey has one platinum album, and one that should almost be certified gold.
Chris’s main thing is dancing. But it’s the same style of dancing. It’s nothing new. Usher gives u so much more. So it really did’nt matter who was touring with Usher because he’s gonna sellout arenas period.
