Former Pussycat Doll leader Nicole Scherzinger recently posed and talked it up with Recognise magazine. Notable not only for its stunning shoot (above), the feature saw the 33 year old make quite the interesting statement regarding her former bandmates.

Speaking to the British publication, Scherzinger said:
“I hope the (other) girls aren’t jealous of me. Because I’m only positive.”
“I wish them the best success and happiness. The only place I’m ever extreme or dangerous is on stage.”
While Nicole, as ever, attempts to keep things politically correct, her comments can’t but come off as a little indulgent. And that’s at best.
It’s a given that there’s more to the PCD story than meets the eye (a point the interviewer may have pressed on to generate such a response). Yet, is she really – at this point – in a position to say such things? I ask, as the last I checked she had one shelved LP, a single which tanked everywhere other than the UK, and a tiny (albeit growing) fanbase.
Talented she may be, but let’s not go jumping the gun just yet.

Hmmm… As a HUGE Nicole fan and a big PCD fan, i know much of what happened with her and the girls… Ppl always assume that she stole the limelight, and made all the decisions, because that is what gets published.. But there’s a managing team behind the girls, and they made the groups decisions, not the group itself.. Nicole was hired as the LEAD singer, and that is why she remained that from Don’t Cha all the way through to Jai Ho. The other girls were brought into the group as backing dancers, so how can ppl expect them to share vocals with the lead singer? When Nicole was added to the group, she was signed as a solo artist as well as a group artist, and that is why she was always featured the most in the songs. And yes, she has always remained politcally correct, because she did nothing wrong in that group… The other members however allowed their jealousy to shine through… So big deal if she says they’re jealous of her, they clearly all are, that’s why they sold stories about her, while she remained humble and quiet…

She is 33 yrs old. I have watched her go from pop stars the show to PCD. I lost interest after the first PCD album. The statement has to be a joke right? What is there to be jealous of exactly? So what you won DWTS or had a #3 on the UK chart. The truth of the matter is as bad as she wants to be a star I don’t think it’s in her cards to be a major artist. She has been trying for a decade now if it hasn’t happened with even Ron Fair backing you I just don’t see it happening period. She should have struck with the group because how can you release one group album and then try to release one so soon. that is why she flopped the first time around. Nicole is doing just fine. She is an amazing talent and should have been the lead of the PCD – I don’t think any of the other dolls could touch her in terms of singing. PCD’s were successful because of Nicole. I think they were all good dancers in the videos though.
Since the Dolls, she’s won DWTS, had rave reviews for Rent, was on X-Factor and HIMYM, judged that singing contest and continues to work on her cd. What are the other girls doing? I hope they all find something they enjoy doing – but bashing Nicole won’t help them.
