Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson have been busy rehearsing for their performance at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony this Sunday. Alongside Yolanda Adams, Florence Welch and Martina McBride, the powerhouse vocalists will be honoring the mother of all divas, Aretha Franklin.
Expect the group to open their tribute to Franklin with ‘Natural Woman’, followed by individual renditions of her classic hits. Aguilera will be performing ‘Ain’t No Way’, McBride will sing ‘Until You Come Back to Me’, Welch will do ‘Think’, Hudson will belt ‘Respect’ and Adams will bring Gospel with ‘Spirit in the Dark’.
All 5 women will then close with a group performance of ‘Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves’. See what Hudson had to say about the exciting show below:

Why is this tribute even happening? Why are the same 10 artists/groups given tribuets it seems? I would love to hear some male renditions/interpretations of some of these songs, but that would be too progressive for the Grammy’s. This set up is so strategic; get all these big voiced women to sing over the top renditions of these songs to give the queens and blogs fuel to over-hype this performance. I don’t live for Hudson or Aguilera, but I hope Aguie pulls it out like she did for JB-she did that one, I couldn’t even hate. I would love for Hudson to give me restrained and subtle, but she only seems to know blunt force belting.
