I really like this. No one is original nowadays so really, everyone is either inspired or copying one another. But no one really knows who does or doesn’t do it on purpose except the artists themselves. I’ve said before, I adore Gaga but she is in no way a legend or icon. Nope, one ran off with a dude who impregnated her, and I think they got married.

The video was okay. After all the teasers I just expected better. This is big step up fromwhat she usually does though. The video has a BTW feel to it but I dont think that she copied.

I just think that it was a whole lot to take in at once and it is easy to get lost and not understand some of the things being thrown at you. I think BTW was an example of Gaga just doing way too much thinking and the video just went over a lot of people heads. But all of that being said, who ever said Gaga was original? She didnt and her fans didnt. She is inspired by other artists and uses her inspirations to mold her craft, just like EVERY OTHER ARTIST DOES. And she is quick to give credit to the people that insired her. But if we want to talk about copying, Madonna is far from original herself (i.e. debby harry, monroe to name a few)

I don’t think the video went over people’s heads at all. I think her fans (the hardcore ones) try and anaylyze and find reason for everything she does. Until Gaga herself explains the video, the review you posted is virtually pointless because that could very well be an entirely different concept.

I think the point of the video is to find your own interpretation of it. But the point is, it makes sense. And it is easy to just chalk things up as being weird or stupid or a mess if you dont want to put any thought into it. She could have just made a straight forward video but that would have been boring and too easy. When have we ever known her to take the easy route in nything. The main point I am trying to make is that you can’t really say that what she does has no meaning or is just a mess, when you don put forth any effort to try and understand her. She’s over the top and puts lots of thought into what she does. That is just what she does, I’m not saying you have to like her , but at least make an educated opinion on wy you don’t like what she does.
