Fans have not heard or seen much of Mario after his last album D.N.A. failed to make much of a dent on the charts. However, with a new single and album in the works, that could be set to change. Though originally said to feature mainly club bangers and Euro-pop numbers, the ‘Let Me Love You’ singer has let fans in on news that his yet-to-be-titled new album will now feature ‘classic R&B’ records. Said to be hitting stores in late 2011 or early 2012, Barrett boasts the album will include features and production from Fabolous, The Underdogs, and more.
With his new Rico Love produced single ‘The Walls’ gearing up for radio release in less than a few weeks, Mario took to our friends at RapUp to share details:

But, I’m looking forward to Mario’s new material. His leaks this summer have been SOLID. Takes me back to the “Main Attraction” era of 2008. Then, he put out that terribly disappointing, substance-lacking album in 2009. It must be redemption time.

Did I fall asleep and wake up in 2004? Who the hell cares about Mario today? He’s like the male version of Christina Milian; had one big hit and another smaller hit, and that was basically it. Years after they still linger around the industry, thinking that they still have a following, despite the fact that everyone moved onto others a long time ago.

Marios new album Restoration is HOT. Some of my favorite singles are Bed Love, Perfect Gentleman, Missing My Woman and The Walls. I can’t wait till it is released! We love you Mario!
