It has been eleven months since ‘Pink Friday‘ , the debut solo effort by Rapper Nicki Minaj, was made available for release in all major music markets.
Now, the song bird has revealed that she intends to turn her second album into what can only be described as a ‘global affair’.

Speaking to members of the press at the 2011 American Music Awards press conference, she revealed:
There’s been so many countries that have been sending requests and I haven’t been able to go out there.
As soon as the new album comes out, we’ll be going back on the road- that’s why I’m excited about right now. I want to be done with recording process and go overseas.
Here’s to hoping these plans materialize in the way Minaj is hoping they will.
For though global sales of ‘Friday’ have now commendably surpassed the 2 million mark, there is no denying that the handling of the project overseas was lacklustre to say the least.
Her bid overseas stretched only to a week of promotion in London and an even shorter stint in the rest of Europe.
Now that she is a much bigger star in the US than she was this time last year, let’s hope that her management and label have a realistic plan put in place to boost her celebrity in the mainstream media of all markets.

She’s gonna Flop this next go round. She no longer has a new artist hype, and so many were disappointed with Pink Friday once they got it.

I really hope she comes to Europe >> Netherlands next year. I’ve been such a fan of her and wished she performed with Britney on the EU leg of the Femme Fatale Tour.

How is her album going to be a global affair when Pink Friday is sitting at 1.5 million a flop to me considering how she was overhyped. An artist can only utter such nonsense if they are known for breaking records. These words should be coming from someone like Lauryn Hill not this gimmick.
Erm, it has taken over ten years for any of Lil Kims albums to move over 2 million units so how can her fans can sit her and mock Nicki selling 2 million in less than one year is beyond me.

Nicki is trying to become a global pop star that raps—rapping is what made her different. She used a lot of Kim’s steeze, missy’s crazyiness, gaga’s outrageousness and her OWN cartoon-ish expressions (not to mention being brought out by Wayne who is now HIMSELF a pop star). She’s a big combination of everything that’s hot right now, and was hot in that past.
I don’t think she’s going to have a long career, but I’m not hoping she flops out of existence. I’ve always had mixed feelings, especially since she’s clearly sold a lot her soul.
