Kelly Rowland set the charts ablaze last year with ‘Motivation’, going on to earn critical acclaim with its accompanying album ‘Here I Am’.
And in looking to keep her momentum afloat, the 30 year old has hit the recording booth with the brainchild behind Rihanna‘s monster hit ‘We Found Love’ - Calvin Harris.
Details after the jump…
Confirmation of the collaboration comes via Rowland’s recent feature in This Is London magazine, which saw the her recount her storied career, as well as her future plans.
Although, it’s unknown if the pairing is for the singer’s new album (reportedly due this year) or for Harris’ project, it’s certainly a mutually good look.
An established force here in the UK, Harris’ profile shot up considerably after the mammoth success of ‘We Found Love’; success he’d love to continue and success Rowland would greatly welcome.
Bring on album album #4!

Omy Gosh, i came here to read about Kelly and these Rianna Trans are up in here giving people career advice like selling singles will get you into anybody’s Hall of Fame, they must have gotten it confused with the Hall of Shame, cause we all know their comprehension skills are lacking. Hince sex years and no #1 album for Ms. Flimsy i mean Fenty, freudian slip…i guess.

Kelly has been copying Rihanna for a while now.
She’s tried to alternate urban hit & dance hit the way Rihanna does… but she s been floppin’.
She’s been tryin to build up her UK stanbase, but she s been flopping.
She’s been tryin to be more fashin avanguardist, but she s been flopping.
She’s basically the flop version of Rihanna.

eXCUSE ME BUT DAVI GUETTA BEGGED RIHANNA TO DO WHOES THAT CHICK AND SHE RELY DIDNT LIKE THE SONG HENCE THE REASON IT DIDNT MAKE LOUD!
KELLY WILL NOT SMASH WITH CALVIN HARRIS WHY?
BECAUSE SHE IS NOT RIHANNA
RIHANNA SELLS PURELY OFF HER NAME
AND WE CAN TALK ABOUT TALENT DAY IN DAY OUT
TALENT IS NOT THE ONLY FACTOR OF HAVING A SUCCESSFUL MUSICALL CAREER CASE AND POINT LEONA LEWIS, JENNIFER HUDSON, ALEXANDRA BURKE, JORDIN SPARKS,
THEY JUST DONT HAVE THAT X FACTOR AND RELATABLE FACTOR THAT RIHANNA DOES SHES THE SHIT

Those records should be epic!
I wanna hear Kelly collab with him, Avicii, Afrojack, Guetta, RedOne, and throw in a few urban hits too. I want a dance cd from somebody lol. Something to compare to Blackout and Femme Fatale.
We’ll see how it pans out. She should definitely drop the album later this year though.

‘When Love Takes Over’ was probably her best record to date. Kelly still hasn’t found a formula that fits, and I think she should go with music that’s current but different instead of doing the predictable: one urban track and one dance.
Boring! And she’s not a boring girl.

Chile please! Calvin Harris is BIG in Europe and has been long before Rihanna begged him to get in the studio with her. If anything Rihanna has swagger jacked Kelly Rowland and Kelis style. They were the black girls that were making Dance hits long before Miss Fenty came along SO LET”S NOT! This song is most likely for Calvin Harris’s project which will feature both Kelly Rowland and Kelis on the album.
The Rihtards need to stop and realize that Miss Rowland isn’t going anywhere. The Dance DJs keep knocking at her door and that’s why you’re really mad.

But if you haven’t check out hios own tune “Feel So Close” it’s a banger as well.
He also had a song with Kelis prior to Rihanna called “Bounce.” Iwas too big a fan of it, but you may like that too. IDK, I love “Feel So Close.”

i do remember kelly saying she was inspired by rihannas loud so @sam doesnt that make kelly rowlands music generic and fast food?
and rihanna didnt make calvin harris big in europe but she established his name in the US and pushed his name even further in europe countries.
but just to make this clear generic by definition is having no brand name, basically off brand products so exactly how is any particular song generic?? i really makes no sense

Yep Rihanna was indeed doing the euro sound before Kelly. SOS and please don’t stop the music were major hits. That’s when Kelly jumped on the euro bandwagon because she wasn’t making it in r and b. Its clear to see who is following who, since Rihanna was a hit from the time her solo career begun while Kelly was a flop from jump. Pon de replay _ Hit. SOS _Hit. Please don’t stop the music-hit. Unfaithful- Hit and the list goes on. Kelly is hungry for Rihannas success not the other way around.

(Meh.. Kelly Rowland?! ..Desperation hangs thick..!!)
Sam,
“We Found Love” was a hit ONLY because it was based on a ‘real and compelling time and situation’. A “time and situation” that now, some 3-years later, is still very-much the talk, and remains fresh in our minds! The obvious “staged heavy-handedness” that was the ‘run-up’ to “Rated R” gave way to a more-reasonable treatise of “Feb 8th-2009 Chrianna”: “We Found Love”. Rihanna won’t be able to “data-mine” that nerve for much longer. Exposed nerves, first-opened and raw, though initially stinging, then quickly becomes numb, and is yet-quicker ignored.
(Sidenote..)And talking ’bout “ignored”: when time comes for Nicki Minaj to tour the U.K./Europe you’ll then see Rihanna become quickly irrelevant and passe. Neither, Chris Brown, nor Nicki Minaj have yet to tour Europe. Chris Brown has not toured Europe/U.K. for OVER 3-years now. When either artist does, rest assured their respective CDs will show an upwards spike in sales!
Now, I say ALL of the aforementioned to give proper balance and background for my rational: NOTHING the 30-something-year-old Kelly Rowland says can be AS compelling, nor will offer the slightest bit of relevance in anyone’s life! NOTHING!!
..Sam, you now, no doubt, cast your now easily recognizable scowl in disagreement? Sam, was not your/TGJ’s ‘favorite daughter’ given the largest, tallest, most-grandiose podium/pulpit by being a ‘sitting judge/mentor of talent’, on one of T-H-E U.K.’s most watched WEEKLY TV-shows? ..And for “Here I am” to fail so badly…?! Sam, don’t forget: It only took Colombia 2 CDs to finally drop Kelly Rowland.
..And, as she’s obviously a “singles” artist, if she can’t “self-finance”, as Rihanna once did, then the only other alternative is to sign a “360-Contract” with Universal. That’ll mean, whatever OTHER non-music revenue streams/monies she currently has is then redirected to Universal. That is, IF they then decided to keep, and ONLY after “viable revenue streams are identified”, and that ’360-contract’ is signed.
“Desperation indeed..!!” *Bark, Rowdogs, bark*
X,Y,”and Z” — OUT..!!

I loved Here I Am’. I just hope she won’t be lazy and stick previously released songs on the international version. She should release a full on DANCE album in the UK, and an R&B album in the US, not swapping a few tracks around here and there. But nonetheless, HERE I AM is amazing and it’s achieved fair success.
