Janet’s career is over and done. 3 back to back flop albums. She hasn’t had a top 10 hit in 11 years, and only barely and briefly scratched the top 20 once. She can’t get radio play. MTV and VH-1 are totally disinterested. She couldn’t find a promoter to back her when she tried to tour with Damita Jo and then had to cancel a tour due to low ticket sales. In recent years, the only time the media has seemed interested in Janet in putting Janet back on TV was when Michael died…and she tried to use his death to revive her dead career, but that lasted only for about 5 minutes.
Today she’s pushing animal fur and Nutrisystem, starring in low budget movies by Tyler Perry and playing her greatest hits in small theaters. She doesn’t even have a record deal. No “superstar” (if you could ever call her that) has fallen off as hard as Janet Jackson has. I guess that’s just what happens when you the only reason you were ever famous in the first place was because you had a more famous sibling who you were able to ride the coattails of.
She’s a washed up hasbeen.

Doesn’t matter if Janet hasn’t said anything about Madonna “recently,” the fact is that whatever “feud” they ever had was set off by Janet. SHE threw the first gauntlet by talking out of the side of her neck first. And did it more than once in the 90′s, and to my knowledge Madonna rarely bothered to even acknowledge Janet’s pettiness back then. I don’t care if it was 20 years ago. So whatever snark Madonna throws Janet’s way, she had coming.
Anyways, people are turning it into something a lot more serious than it was. Madonna’s comment wasn’t even a slam. She SHOULD have slammed her, but she didn’t. In the meantime, TGJ knows that many of Janet’s fans are insecure over her lapsed career, and are insanely threatened by the fact that Madonna’s name always out-shined hers, and have successfully baited those fools with these exaggerated headlines designed to get their ire up.
I’m glad I’m not a Janet fan, because they seem like a group of bitter, obsessed zealots with major chips on their shoulders, are very defensive and always seem like they have something to prove as far as she’s concerned…with good reason, I suppose. I mean when was the last time the media fawned all over Janet, or hyped her name/latest project over anyone else’s? as i see it, regardless of past things said by both artists about each other in their youth, madonna has had no need to acknowledge janet or her malfunction at all. of course they are gonna be compared in this arena given both their histories and neither of them would be who they are in total without the other for they have both been affected by the other, but for any madonna fan to think that anything she has been saying in all of her interviews has been innocent you have to be completely kidding yourselves and totally blind. she is a master manipulator and knows exactly what she is doing.
as to jan’s success or flops as they are called: janet has not had a flop. by that i mean she has put out quality material and performances (despite some questionable costume choices) since the superbowl. it’s the buying public that has made her a “flop” by largely ignoring her. but through it all she has remained strong and proud, without sinking to drugs, alcohol, or stupid behavior. can madonna say that? not so much. i do have respect for her accomplishments and enjoy her music but her recent comments and insinuations should not be taken as anything less than they are- purposeful digs. she should be incredibly grateful for her recent wins and go off of that.
