I don’t have any issues with Nicki Minaj for the most part. Do I take her seriously? … yes and no! Her music isn’t groundbreaking, her songs don’t have all this musical depth to it. Still, I think it is what it is. She’s listenable and despite the fact that she’s crossed over into pop, she does have skills as a rapper. Everyone that want to compare her to those before her know damn well that Missy wasn’t a great lyricist either, but she was entertaining. Kim paved the way and Hardcore was groundbreaking imo, but B.I.G was the master mind behind that. Foxy was actually (in some ways) the better rapper, but Kim was in her own way as well. I don’t stan for any of these brawds, but I say let them be. I personally think the Miseducation of L.H. murder all of them anyway. Bottom line, let Nicki have her time. There’s a lot worse polluting the industry.

This new album sounds terrible. I only respect two songs on the album. Champion and the joint w/ Chris Breezy. There is no growth and nothing classic about it. It sounds like Missy Elliott 10+ years ago. nothing hip hop about this. I respect her money hustle but everything else has to go….

I don’t stan for anybody, but God. Therefore, I had to post on this one. Nicki Manaj, is caught up in fame ie: Ciara instead of making real evolving music.
Please do not disrespect Missy. The only reason she has not been on the scene was due to her illness. Missy goes in the category of Michael, Janet, & Madonna as her innovative music videos. She can really sing ie: Lauryn & Queen Latifah as female rappers are concerned. Missy has produced so many hits, she writes, she has stage persona, and is herself. If anything Onicka needs to pay homage to Missy.
Missy is the best rapper of all time. The only one to have consecutive platinum albums.
Lauryn Hill is the most gifted.
Queen Latifah is the best triple threat.
Acting, Producing, successful jazz albums..ect.
