IA that Rihanna ain’t black enough for BET…IMO she should be permanently blacklisted from all black media. Period. No one in the pop/white music world is anything like Rihanna. She definitely beats to her own drum. Now wether you like the sound of that tune does not determine how black she is. Nothing will ever be a determination of how black I am besides the hue of my skin and the depth of my connection to my people. If you don’t feel a connection to Rihanna, that is quite ok. This was quite a humorous read. While I’m not so quite so quick to pigeonhole what “black” is and isn’t, I do agree that Rihanna does not have a place on BET, or at their award show. She is basically a chocolate version of Katy Perry and generally does not fit in with, or appeal to, the tastes of BET’s viewing demographic.

I just found out that when you type “Jigga”, “Yeezy”, “Rozay”, “Weezy” and “Drizzy” in Wikipedia it actually sends you right to Jay-Z, Kanye, Rick Ross, Lil’Wayne and Drake pages. That’s BOSS.

I’m looking forward to Chris and Nicki out of the confirmed performers. Not particularly a Nicki fan, but she has to redeem herself to the urban audience after ‘Super Bass’, ‘Starships’ and her Grammy’s performance. I also hope Ciara and Kelly Rowland appear. I don’t know about ‘Ice’ yet, but ‘Sweat’ would be pure slayage on that stage!

Damn Trey got robbed best r&b artist award. Usher. I wouldve been happy for Usher had he won as well. I’m gonna piss somebody off with this but I really feel all these award shows keep giving Chris Brown all these awards to help him continue to jump start his career again , the Grammys and now this. It’s sort of like in 2008 at the VMA’s where they gave Britney Spears all those awards for the very lackluster “Piece of Me” video. It was obviously a sympathy award and a career-booster.
