New Song: Daley – ‘Remember Me (ft. Jessie J)’

daley jessie j remember me thatgrapejuice e1346877734551 New Song: Daley Remember Me (ft. Jessie J)

“Long road” wouldn’t begin to describe the journey of talented Soul singer Daley.

The Universal Music signee has been a staple on the UK live circuit for the last three years, and even appeared on our acoustic series The Splash.

Now, at last, the 22 year old first “official” single, ‘Remember Me’, has premiered. Fellow Brit Jessie J features. Take a listen below…

A delicious slice funky of Soul-Pop, this is a  homerun if we’ve heard one! Not only do Daley and Jessie’s voices blend blissfully, the   sampling of Blue Boy‘s ‘Remember Me’ works surprisingly well too.

Here’s hoping this earns what it deserves – a spot in the upper echelon of the charts.

  • This IS SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Daley is the future of RnB and Soul. I can’t wait for him to blow up in the US. His mixtape is absolutely flawless. Jessie J sounds really good on this one too. I was hoping they would get in the studio together and I am not disappointed. This is a 100% SMASH.

  • I am a HUGE Daley fan and have been riding with him for a minute. I like this song, but his true GEM is ‘Alone Together” with Marsha Ambrosius.

  • It’s a good, funky number. I doubt that he’ll blow in the U.S.

We have Robin Thicke, he’s american and we don’t like Brits singing our music all THAT much.

    • Fuck Robin Thicke. We need to stop being so nationalist. The UK is killing music right now. Maybe if we let them in, our artists will stop slacking off. They only do it because they know we will eat up what they make. They need some competition. If Daley makes it big soul music will have to step up it’s game and if Jessie get’s bigger these generic ass pop stars will have to come with something new.

LOL, do you honestly think the game (aka the music industry) is determinded by the true artists and cheap music gimmicks wihin it? Come now, lets not be so naive! Should the POWERS THAT BE determine this guy is worthy of their backing, he will receive the same treatment Adele, Amy Winehouse (RIP), One Direction, Justin Bieber and every other non-American (with a little soul)they want to promote, receives!

      • Did you just say One Direction has soul? Are you serious?

      • it’s nice and maybe he will be a success, but its a little bittersweet. i mean, has anyone ever heard of rahsaan patterson? this has him written all over it. there is still great soul and r&b music being made in the states (by the original purveyors of it) but its just not being noticed. jessie j has an awesome voice, but ledisi would blow her the fuck back over the pond.

      • Ledisi would blow ANYONE away–which is why she’s performed at the White House 5 times. Sorry Brits, I’ll take the people who actually have a connection to the music they make, over someone who accidentally heard an Etta James record when they were 17. Yeah, I said it.

        Are You Serious?

        September 5, 2012 at 6:34 pm

Who said they don’t have a connection to this? Daley has made nothing but soul music since he started and Jessie J grew up listening to this music. She’s a pop singer who uses soul and hip hop influences because that is what she grew up on. Your skin doesn’t have to be black for you to make black music. Just like you don’t have to be white to make white music. Look at Darius Rucker. I could see if they were clearly faking it like Cher Lloyd, but this is the musical background they come from and they execute it well. Go watch Daley’s video with the living legend that is Angie Stone.

      • You can see a diffrence in some american artists and other country artists they work hard in crafting their music, and is serious about what they create, most american artists play around, put out music and albums every year, let your fans bathe in your present album for at least 2 years then give them something fresh both jessie j and daley put out music in 2011 it is now almost the end of 2012 and we are getting glimpses of new material! UK artists are a force to be reckon with! I saw the video with Daley and Angie Stone very soulful! Please dont compare Daley to Robin Thicke! Thicke is a has been, his music has lost its soul, Daley would eat Robin Thicke alive in soul now! I could see if you said Maxwell as to me they both have that same soul to their music! You cannot put race on a music genre especially when an individual within another race has what it takes to make in that genre! What does performance creds come in the picture at? Jessie J has performed SEVERAL times in front of the queen, at the biggest sporting event in the world, and performed in front of the man she turned down a deal with in which he said she’d never make it without him. Fooled L.A. Reid wrong!

    It’s okay.

“A delicious slice funky of Soul-Pop” <——- There are alot of "SOUL HYBRIDS" coming out of the UK 0_O?! I keep telling folks in a minute SOUL MUSIC will be supported by the industry, media, and award shows as long as ADELE & "CREW" are singing it!

Now why couldn't Migual sing "Adorn" and Brandy sing "Put It Down" at this years MTV VMAs?

I thought the Sample was Mica Paris – Should’ve known better (written and produced by Omar) I like Dailey but not really feeling the track, i think it’s Jessie J’s part to be honest
