‘It’s Like That’ was a horrble first single for EOM.. Hence why it didnt even crack the top 10. It was ‘We Belong Together’ and later singles that made it the comeback it was. Hell, if you wanna talk about a comeback, lets go to Whitney’s I Look To You, which debuted at #1 with 300k+ in its first week with not even a top 40 single, her biggest first week sales of her career. THATS a fucking comeback. So dont write off JT or anybody else based off of one single when there are 20 more songs to be judged.
And for the record, Nuclear is not a single nor a newly recorded song. Nothing more than an unreleased rejected track that is now being released. So have a seat with the shade and comparisons.

Real talk –
I don’t give a fuck how good, bad or in between the song is. What matters most is that it’s not pop, techno or some bubblegummy female singer. For that reason alone, I support this song becoming a big hit because then maybe it’ll open the floodgates for more music to dominate that isn’t pop, techno or bubblegum female.
I hope JT releases a ballad as a single sometime this year, because big ballads need to come back too.

Oh hell to the yes.
I laugh at those saying he sold on “name recognition.” Do you know how many have tried that and failed? Former classmate Nelly Furtado was his female equivalent in the mid 00s, had hit after after then took an equally long hiatus and tried to come back using her name and bombed.
Do you realize how hard it is to sell on “name recognition” in the digital age, when people can listen/bookmark/illegally download? Especially if people aren’t actually impressed by the final product. LOL its just SO hard for some to reconcile that perhaps a lot of people actually LIKE this song and THAT’S why its selling through the roof.
In addition to the sales, the song is also being critically praised and radio is eagerly adding it to their playlist.
Try and downplay and spin it all you want. Whether or not the song is any good is 100% conjecture. The fact that it’s exploding is not!
Are you mad that this isn’t Chris? I wonder.

Technically, Justin never really went on hiatus. He was in many films, and never really left the public eye. He hasn’t released any music in 7 years, but he was stillaround. Nelly Furtado dropped off the face of the Earth for 6 years and thought she could come back. Her fan base pretty much alienated her ass lol.
I like S&T, but Justin is definitely selling off of his name right now. Plus he’s on a full-out media blitz. Nelly just dropped a bunch of lackluster singles with no promo.

This is my take on the song, it’s a nice but not a good crossover song. This is for the smaller markets in r&b; artists like fantasia, Miguel, melonie fiona, estelle, robin thicke. JT is now competing against chris brown & rhianna of the music world. And the type of music that’s out right now is that twerking music which is a mixture of urban, fusion, hip hop and r&b. For example rhianna’s cake top the charts w/o a music video. Look at artists like future, 2chainz, juicy j, french montana, etc doing their thing. That’s what’s hot right. Ciara finally got it right with this new single with future produce by mike will and if ciara drop a video for wake up, turn it up, riri do it for pour it up and tamar braxton drop a video for hot sugar those girls will kill it especially with the twerking dance moves bcuz that’s what’s popping right now. So I do give JT a B- for trying. Like I said if cici, riri & tamar drop a viddy for their twerking music it would be fire and top the charts.

Do you even know who you’re talking about? None of what you said is applicable to Justin or will hinder his appeal in any way. Justin is bigger, more famous, and more sought after than everyone you named. So for you to suggest that he wouldn’t, or couldn’t, compete with this – or any – song is you being wholly naive to the reality of his name and fame. Last time I checked, his song was atop of iTunes worldwide and was being heavily added to radio station playlists everywhere. The song has already “crossed over.” Who is he playing second fiddle to in that regard? Chris? Rihanna? Ciara? “Twerking music?” LMAO! Seriously? Fuck outta here, junior miss.
When this song was premiered yesterday, the question may have initially been: “will he do well with it?” A day later, the answer is a resounding yes.

Timbersnake has a Huge radio deal, and is expecting to sell at least 400k.
This mess is awful, and once radio takes it off if heavy rotation, I highly doubt it will be a massive hit in the US.
A major radio deal, premium package, iTunes banner, etc, JT and his team need all of that just to try to get the song to smash.
It will drop off the charts soon.

Are you mad that Justin never went bonkers and hasn’t had to resort to sitting at the judges table on a reality TV show? (A reality TV show that didn’t see a significant ratings bump at the addition to said judge, leaving producers wanting to unload her.)

I predict he’ll debut at #2 just behind Bruno. If he gets more than 50 million airplay impressions he could debut at #1. The airplay component is so large Bruno has a huge advantage no matter what Justin’s airplay is
