Jazmine Sullivan heats up the eve of ‘Ebony’ with a few of her curvaceous pals this month.

Why? To flaunt their ‘Body Brigade‘, celebrating plus-size women and opening up about the battles they face in a size-obsessed industry.

Joining her on the cover is ‘R&B Diva’ Chrisette Michelle, Gabi Fresh and Danielle Brooks who storm its pages with confessions that have already made it one of the magazine’s more groundbreaking editions.

Keep it locked on TGJ for more on the bodacious belles and their cover.

  2. PeaceMaker March 5, 2016

Good Lawd! She is hmmm!. Anyway I’m all for self-love but this girl would look 100% better if just loses the weight. Stop being lazy Jazmine, get in that gym and get back to that #Fearless shape.

  3. ??Queen Molly?? March 5, 2016

    Vomits…???

    • Truth(Nicki WHACK and Adele FAT…WHET!!) March 5, 2016

      Cici a flop.

Jasmine is a pretty realistic women. Most of you h*** don’t look like Your idols. Jasmine repopin the thick girls that got jobs & not scared to eat a burger. It’s not like she’s precious or something….. Most real men like thick TBH I love my baes thickness ??

  5. Roy March 5, 2016

Sorry but this is not empowering. Show me any receipts of these girls having thyroid issues and I’ll take back my post. What this is, is lazy, unhealthy, barbaric, gross, and just ugly. How people can promote this obesity is beyond me. The number one killer in women is cardiac disease and what the f*** do you think this says? So gross. Go to the gym, buy some veggies, and change your life.

Hopefully next issue, they will do a cover story about black women and accepting their natural HAIR. Just sayin’

    • Ugggh March 5, 2016

You natural hair protestors are annoying. Congrats you have the patience to deal with the maintenance. Doesn’t mean everyone else is wrong for pressing that shît out. You and vegans need to get together and disappear.

      • Chester March 5, 2016

Who care about pressing it out. When I say “natural”, I’m talking about wearing the hair that grows from your scalp. Press it, perm it, dye it, curl it, twist it. If it’s yours, do as you wish.

Yeah I’m with you on that…I think beyonce, tamar and nicki minaj look so much better with black hair instead of blonde.

  7. FC/JC March 5, 2016

When I tell you Ebony did their THANG for this cover shoot.
    All the ladies look fab!
    Jazmine is commanding though! WERK

    • Truth(Nicki WHACK and Adele FAT…WHET!!) March 6, 2016

      LIAR!!

  8. Authentic March 5, 2016

The fat bashing is so real. The point of the f****** picture is too make you think twice about shaming body types that most real woman have… Beyoncé & Rihanna are celebrities with chefs, trainers and physicians hired to keep them that size…

    • RASHAD March 5, 2016

Jazmine has more than enough money to afford a personal doctor, nutritionist, chef, and trainer. While I do support the message behind the cover, these women are clearly unhealthy & loosing weight would benefit them in a positive way. Nobody is saying they need to be the same as Bey and Rihanna but they should slim down!

  9. Tamartian#1 March 5, 2016

Wow when did jasmine get so fat? Step away from the Popeyes sis.

  10. RealNegro March 5, 2016

Never knew that Chrisette Michelle was thick. She still BAe though…..

  11. Tee March 5, 2016

I’m so glad that cover was able to happen. For so long there has been this image of a slim woman who all women were supposed to want to be. I will tell you women such as myself come in all shapes and that does not make us any less beautiful. I tried working out, eating the right food and limiting myself and I still couldn’t get rid of stubborn fat. I asked my doctor and he told me I had steatopgyia which is a disorder much like dimples and freckles but this one accumulates fat around my legs thighs and buttocks. Stop treating your blessing like its a curse.

If you do your history, the idea woman changes every 10 to 20 years. Right now circus looking fake butts and fake lips are in. Flash back to 2003, big REAL booties like J.Lo and Beyonce was the LOOK. Flashback to late 90s and eraly 2000s, slim with abs was in. The 50’s curves was in, 80s it went to skinny girls. Women need to know that different guys like different things. Same with us guys, some girls want in shape guys, others want cubby guys. Just rock what you have.
    .
I have a female friend that is really thin, she eats like a p**, but just a thin girl. She feels that guys want the think girls. 10 years ago, she would had been the it girl.

    • OMG Logic!!! March 5, 2016

This isn’t a “look.” This is an incredibly unhealthy lifestyle that is affecting millions and threatens the health of our population.

  13. Krista March 5, 2016

Why are we celebrating being overweight?

    • What Now March 6, 2016

My thoughts exactly! I know everyone can’t be skinny, but be healthy. Being obsese is not cool.

  14. OMG Logic!!! March 5, 2016

This is absolutely disgusting. It’s one thing to not abuse overweight people, it’s a complete other to celebrate obesity like it’s some sort of achievement. Being morbidly obese should not be celebrated. These people should not be on magazine covers. They should be on a diet, so they don’t die of heart disease. If they don’t want to live healthily then at least have the decency not to promote your incredibly unhealthy lifestyle.

  15. credits March 5, 2016

There’s 6 or 7 billion people on this planet…not all women are going to be thin. If you feel that this is disgusting it is because you have been conditioned to think that way. There are cultures and countries around the world that celebrate women of this size, believe it or not. I’m all for being healthy and I’m pretty sure these women workout rather than using their money on a quick fix–because you do know they have the money for those kinds of surgeries right? Losing weight the healthy way takes a while.

  16. ComplexBeing March 5, 2016

Some of these “fat shaming” comments are down right disgusting and utterly RIDICULOUS!! If you did your research you would know that the average woman is a 14….with that being said, why does having curves have to relate to being unhealthy? Not every woman is going to be a stick figure, just because these women love their natural thick bodies does not mean they need to be ridiculed, ESPECIALLY when you consider that women die every day getting pumped with toxic chemicals just to have the SHAPES that these women were blessed with!! Cudos to Ebony Magazine, Jazmine, Chrisette and the others for your bravery!! As for the trolls GET A LIFE & A BURGER!!

    • What Now March 6, 2016

You must be fat yourself KIIII

      • ComplexBeing March 6, 2016

And clearly you must be ignorant!! Go f*** yourself queen

  17. CL says Hello Bi+ches March 5, 2016

How is that jazmin Stan calling Beyonce fat ect when this photoshoot exists?

  18. UR March 5, 2016

    Obese? Maybe. F*** y’all. She’s beautiful.

  19. StarXavi March 6, 2016

Being bigger does not automatically mean that you are unhealthy. Not one person on this site knows these ladies lives or what they have to go through to maintain or lose weight.

  20. Anti ain’t ready to talk another time March 7, 2016

    Nice beautiful women
