The Predictions Are In! Future Set For #1 With Self-Titled Album

Published: Monday 20th Feb 2017 by Sam

Future continues to prove his commercial viability.

The rapper’s fifth album, which is self-titled, was announced with minimal notice last week. Yet, the short lead-in didn’t pose any kind of problem. Because the MC, real name Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, is on-course to top the Billboard 200.

Find out what its sales are looking like after the jump…

According to the latest data by Hits Daily Double, the 17-song set is on-course to land at #1 with the following numbers…

145,000-155,000 Sales Plus Streaming
[55,000-60,000 Pure Sales]

The figures are consistent with the rapper’s prior debuts.

It will be interesting to see whether he can best those efforts by continuing to sell in the long-term. Because, sans his joint LP with Drake, his previous albums tend to sell well initially but burn out fairly quickly.

Time will tell this go round.

For now though…

And all that money is going straight to Rocky and Ciara. Its a sad shame smh. Humility goes a long way

    • gina February 20, 2017

Play every one of his albums/ mixtapes back to back and it all sounds like one long ass song

    • MusicLife February 20, 2017

Yeah a reason why I’m glad to say I’m not a fan of these modern rappers. Not to mention gen sound snore like a vocalist in the tpain type role than a legit rapper to me.

    • BEYSTAN_ SINCE 1997 February 20, 2017

She already has… Not to mention the “Evoltion” album went #1 with over 350,000 first weeks sales back when there was no such thing of streaming!

      • sam is TRASH February 20, 2017

10 YEARS AGO. EMBRACE YOUR PAST BUT LIVE FOR NOW

      • Jj February 20, 2017

Fantasy Ride should be Gold by now.

      • Lea February 21, 2017

        ??? the evolution though…

      • XYZ February 21, 2017

“Back when there was no such thing as streaming” – really? You’re comparing her sales that are like 13 years ago to sales now? Those are ancient times now. B****, please. Ciara sells a tenth of what she used to (if she’s lucky) and is musically definitely not as successful as future (though I don’t know who is buying his s*** anyway)

Ciara about to get a nice check

  6. sam is TRASH February 20, 2017

Poor Samantha, he’s a Ci-Error stan so he’s bitter that Future has done more first week than Ciara’s last 3 albums have sold combined.

    • MusicLife February 20, 2017

Because you know that hat many teens and tweens that are future fans going into record stores or target to buy his album?

Please if your not Adele or Beyonce kind of artist digital isn’t your bread and butter.

  10. RhiRocks February 20, 2017

This guy gets so many no1 albums but he how come he ain’t as famous or popular . I understand he just debuts at no1 then that’s it his albums flop

    • B_Roni February 20, 2017

I wouldn’t say he isn’t popular cause he has more followers and current success than some artist who have been out longer than he has.

  11. Queen Ci February 20, 2017

Up that child support money!!! Kii

  12. iSpeakTruthNoFallacy February 20, 2017

It’s looking like trap stars are about to start outselling pop stars.

  13. Theman February 20, 2017

A lot of Future’s sales come from physical albums. A lot of fans get his albums like that..

  14. THE REAL February 20, 2017

    Cole World all day!

Not here for Future’s incoherent, mumbling rap career. He will eventually fade into obscurity soon alongside past gimmicks i.e. Lil Jon, Ying Yang Twins, Master Plan, DMX etc

Dmx was poppin back in the day though. His drug addiction was his downfall.

      • THE REAL February 21, 2017

You’re right actually. Hence, why I included his name last. Unlike the other artists I mentioned, DMX demonstrated actual talent for lyrics, flow, storytelling etc

I guess a more accurate comparison of Future were the first 3 acts.. DMX is more comparable to a 50 Cent or Ja Rule.

  15. Casual-T February 20, 2017

I’m not sure it makes sense to release albums anymore with these kinds of numbers, but the other side of this is that the 100k difference between actual sales and the SPS total is about 150 million streams. Assuming Future gets an average of 1/5 of a penny per stream, he’s looking at a gross $300k in revenue from the streaming. If he sells a solid 50k units, that would be roughly a gross $500k in revenue. These are only approximations, but his share of that combined $800k is probably just a decent middle class income. I guess the album helps in terms of driving interest for touring, but I’m not sure if it was worth it. I think it makes more sense to get an actual hit than to release an album. The determinant here may be whether or not his album has streaming legs, b/c we know sales won’t hold up.

Wow! Who ever would have thought that future would be outselling ciara…

  17. Zhane February 20, 2017

    Has Jackie even sold 100k?

  18. @ASAPicon February 20, 2017

When he wins, Ciara, Russell & baby Future win, So clap it up

    • ONIKA MINAJ February 20, 2017

      Aren’t you a pedoph*le? Youre 29 with a Jaden smith picture. disgusting p****

  19. Theman February 20, 2017

Y’all also have to understand that when these artists drop digital first because it’s sort of a surprise realease, sales are stifled until physical sales are released.

    • BEY>RIH February 21, 2017

You wasnt saying that with Bey…
