Published: Wednesday 14th Mar 2018 by Rashad

Thanks to some seriously historic streaming figures Drake‘s latest chart-topper, ‘God’s Plan,’ remains steadfast and unmovable from the Hot 100’s perch.  In fact, of the top 10 most streamed weeks for any song the Drizzy cut occupies seven of the top 10 slots.

Billboard reports:

“Plan,” whose official video premiered Feb. 16, now boasts seven of the top 10 streaming weeks all-time:

103.1 million U.S. streams, “Harlem Shake,” Baauer (driven heavily by viral videos incorporating the song’s official audio), chart dated March 2, 2013
101.7 million, “God’s Plan,” Drake, March 3, 2018
97.6 million, “Harlem Shake,” Baauer, March 9, 2013
92.8 million, “God’s Plan,” Drake, March 10, 2018
84.5 million, “Look What You Made Me Do,” Taylor Swift, Sept. 16, 2017
83.3 million, “God’s Plan,” Drake, Feb. 10, 2018

79.6 million, “God’s Plan,” Drake, Feb. 17, 2018
75.5 million, “God’s Plan,” Drake, Feb. 24, 2018

As if that’s not enough, the song also racked up 57,000 more downloads and over 95 million impressions on radio.  The strength of these numbers make it hard to believe ‘Plan’ will be dethroned next week, but until we find out officially look below to see who joins Drizzy in the top 25 on this week’s ‘Chart Check’:

Blah. People are not spending a lot of money on music anymore because the new music is not timeless. These are all popcorn singles. Once you microwave and enjoy it you never play it again and radio does not play it again in later years neither.

I don´t get it. He´s barely special to begin with. It´s all inflated a lot by streaming in his case with all his releases btw. I agree none of this stuff is memorable.
That´s why Adele conquered the world the moment she realeased a real timeless classic with “21”.

LOL yes it is being very difficult to have normal moments in this blog with that supposed troll out there all the time (maybe there´s not even any troll and it is TGJ doing it, who knows). I think this time he/she has not been able to find the avi I´m using right now 🙂

JOHNVIDALwe live in a popcorn music climate. Songs like this one pop quickly, go number 1, and then you never hear them played again the following year.
