It’s little surprise, then, that the community are giving back to the singer in the form of a major award nomination.
The nominees for the 2014 GLAAD Media Awards were announced today and saw the ‘ARTPOP’ dealer named as one the artists up for the Outstanding Music Artist honor.
Now in its 25th year, the show sees the LGBT advocacy group salute those who contribute to the positive portrayal of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender identities and culture in the media.
In her category, 27-year-old GaGa faces competition from Elton John, Goldfrapp, Vampire Weekend, and Teagan & Sara.
The 2014 instalment of the show is scheduled take in two parts – the first Los Angeles on April 12th and the second in New York on May 3rd.
