As reported here, pop princess Britney Spears’ newest album, ‘Glory,’ was blocked from the top spot of the album charts thanks to legendary diva Barbra Streisand and country group Florida Georgia Line. Landing at #3, the set – kicked off by the G-Eazy-assisted ‘Make Me,’ ‘Clumsy,’ ‘Private Show,’ and more – spurred surprising critical acclaim from industry insiders and fans alike (unlike its 2013 predecessor ‘Britney Jean’). Said acclaim, however, wasn’t exactly matched on the commercial front.
With predictions suggesting the project would shift 100,000-120,000 units, Hits Daily Double reported the final tally to be closer to the 115k mark. Billboard disagrees.

What’s so funny? Britney has a remarkable career. Sure, she isn’t selling like she used to but that’s the case for a lot of artist. Not many dominate like Adele or even T Swift, Beyonce and Rihanna. Britney has some stella albums, music videos and tours under her belt, Glory is a project she should be very proud of and especially at this stage I think she would rather have the freedom to make the kind of music she wants to make again then a place on the top spot! The world of 2016 has no use for Britney Spears. She’s dated and we see just how ridiculous and silly she is. All she did was play to little girls during her prime, well now those girls are grown and have better things to spend THEIR money (as opposed to their parents money, like back in ’99-’00) on than her childish music.
I think these are great numbers considering this album doesn’t have an identifiable hit. Albums just aren’t selling that well anymore.
I keep thinking these aren´t bad numbers. It is similar to what everybody not in their peaks sell (most of them) nowadays and without hit singles to support the album. Most of you are hypocrites who are waiting on people to fail. I have always said Britney has no talent for music, her talent was dancing and performing and having some it factor years ago and that wa sit. BUT some of you would be stanning for her if she were still debuting with 400k first week for example. But of course now you call her all types of things.
ps: I have to say I thought she was doing the same numbers as her previous album but actually she did like 20k copies less on pure sales. Anyway taking into account the constant decline in sales we could say she did pretty much the same as she did with her previous one.
