Billboard Hot 100: Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road’ #1 For Historic 18th Consecutive Week

Published: Monday 5th Aug 2019 by Rashad

At no point over the last 18 weeks has your fave topped the Billboard Hot 100!

Why?  Because that’s how long newcomer Lil Nas X (born Montero Hill) has dominated the chart with his hit, ‘Old Town Road.’  Last week he rode atop headlines for breaking the 23-year-old Hot 100 record set by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men as their duet hit, ‘One Sweet Day,’ topped the tally for 16 weeks in the mid-90’s (as we reported here).

Now, Hill has much to celebrate as this week he made it that much harder for any of his successors to top his achievement.

      No, maybe one or two.

Putting Billy ray cyrus on this song has given the song so much credibility. The academy would want to honour Billy cause he’s a veteran who has been in the game for long. This is his first time hitting number one in his career. They cant honour Billy without lil nas.

Congratulations! Whether the haters like it or not, OTR has made a huge cultural impact. Everyone from children to the elderly know and love the song. As for me, it’s very annoying now but still an awesome feat nonetheless.
