Usher Performs ‘Amazing Grace’ During Lakers Kobe Bryant Tribute [Video]

Published: Saturday 1st Feb 2020 by Sam

As the masses adjusts to a world without Kobe Bryant, tonight saw the LA Lakers pay tribute to the legend at their pre-game ceremony.

The NBA icon lost his life in a fatal helicopter crash last Sunday in a tragic accident that claimed the life of his 13-year-old daughter Gigi and seven others.

Usher was on-hand and delivered an emotional rendition of ‘Amazing Grace’ in honor of Bryant’s life and impact.

Kudos.

CAN WE PLEEEEEASE, for the love of god, CUT OUT all of this over-the-top, “look at me” giving condolences to Kobe & his family, BS?? it’s so TIRED and drainiiiiing at this point!!

when someone is truly in mourning, they can not muster the energy or strength to be performing in front of thousands, fake crying online in front of millions of followers or speaking to press + reporters about how the deceased somehow affected their lives.

These celebrities and the media platforms that house their narcissistic nonsense, are milking Kobe’s death for all unholy filth.

I HATE THE FACT that the public was even now made aware of his passing. people are only now hashtagging & making these never ending posts so that strangers will respond with likes, hearts, commentary & other feedback.

it’s no longer about Kobe or Gigi or Vanessa. it’s now about networks securing viewers, the NBA securing sold out arenas, celebrities being told to publicly say something by their PR reps & everyday, common folks looking for the attention they never received in high school.

LET IT GO! Even Vanessa has a paid marketing team making posts from her Instagram page. It’s disgusting. She can barely form an actual sentence, let alone create a cohesive caption of feelings. The mess they are posting from her account isn’t even touching or emotionally layered. It’s PR crap.

IM DONE WITH ALL OF THESE INDUSTRY TRIBUTES! Kobe was very much impactful, but the mourning process needs to happen behind closed doors as opposed to being staged for public consumption & advertising dollars!

Not everything is genuine and there will always be opportunists, but in the midst of that are some very real tributes and a very real sentiment from people who love and respect Kobe.

I was with you on the celebrities part with their non-empathetic neutral emotions. You can actually notice the obvious of their character from interviews of them showing off their idealistic interpretation of Kobe that didn’t seem genuine. But…..I think that it was subconsciously them separating their personal relief from years of hidden jealousy that burden them in those years of competing to shock. I know hate when I see it; like the back of my head……. but when you mentioned people that you don’t personally know off hand like everyday folks; you can’t make that call. You don’t know who you f’ing with; you don’t personally know what those people or a person went through from tremendous amount of hate in their life that is us. I almost wanted to beat yo a** talking on others characters who are the common everyday folks when you can’t even witness their actions. I was surprised but not surprised by Kobe’s death even though he’s gotten very far in success. Yeah, they said it was a mistake, the pilot made an error and Kobe shouldn’t of used a helicopter like regular transportation cause of risks. It’s just filled with the If-a, could-a, would-a, should-a’s. I know it was preventable but you don’t know who was wishing death on them personally. You don’t know hate lingers like I do. WheW!!!!! Black folks hate on the stupidest, dumbest, un-call for ish that makes no d@mn sense cause they’re irresponsible and ignorant enough to make mistakes then take it out on their own race. I can’t imagine the hidden hate Kobe’s family got from ANY race; that they hadn’t spiritually rebuke when he was alive. I like that he would ignore it from black folks when he had to kill them with kindness. Then people had to come at Vanessa apparently after his death happy her struggle is with depressive thoughts like they’ve endured. They want to company her misery by mentioning her finances and ethnicity with his/her family members. SICK! You need to watch what you say too or get off the net for your own safety. Stop pushing your own demise cause you don’t know who hands are ordained with Yeshua Hamashiach. I’m just giving you a complete fair warning that some people who are chosen by Yeshua can just sit back on his vengeance.Romans 12:19
“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

I rolled my eyes when people started campaigning to have the NBA logo changed to Kobe’s image.
    ????

You guys are doing the most.
    Yall are in ur feelings.
    ???

So when jordan or shaq or wade dies, are yall gonna change the logo again and again?

Go to Twitter, everybody calling him a ràpist and an adulterer. Which is the truth.

I watched last night and thought ‘Usher hasn’t sung like this in YEARS!’ You can only sing like this when you have a passion for whatever it is you’re singing. The entire pre-game tribute with song and video was well done.

Usher’s voice does not age! That man has one of the best voices of today. And he NEVER lip syncs!
