Justin Timberlake kick starts the hype for his forthcoming ‘The 20/20 Experience‘ sequel today, sending the video for its lead single ‘Take Back The Night’ straight into the Pop stratosphere.
Featuring footage from recent tour dates and scenes from his nights out in NYC, the video drops weeks before its supporting release hits stores on September 30 under the title ‘The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2’.

I have to be honest: it´s getting tiring!
I mean, it isn´t a bad song, not at all, but it sounds like what Michael Jackson was releasing in 1980 for f**** shake!!! The throwback was cute for a while but it can´t last long. Artists need to understand they have to bring their own personality. He did it with his previous era, but this one is too safe. I love some songs on the first part of 20/20. But this is looking like it will be too much now.
The success over the rest of the competition he had this year (so far) is based on hype. It could have been the most sucsessful anyway, but not by such a difference, too much media support.
Who cares what it’s based on? The important thing is that it happened. And really, ALL substantial commercial success is based on a significant degree of exaggerated or manipulated “hype”. If your album sells over a million copies, trust that at least a third of its buyers were motivated to buy it for some reason other than because they loved what they heard from it. In the end, none of that really matters. Why someone bought it is irrelevant, be it because they wanted to use it for target practice, or because they heard it made for a good table coaster. The only important thing is that they did!
If JT’s competition couldn’t create enough “hype” to challenge him, or at least compete with his on an even level, then shame on them. If you are all about the music, then go play on some corner or at a coffee house. Once you sign a recording contract, it’s no longer all about music, but rather strategy. How good or bad his album is is neither here nor there at this point. JT and his team out strategized all of his competitors this year so far, which means he WON and for all intents and purposes is better than them.

Where did Justin do his on stage show in the video? Because the crowd doesn’t look excited at all…everyone is just standing there looking at him. Justin even tries to make them copy his “wave your hands into the air” movement, but less than half do it. I don’t blame them though.
