Last week the lyricist Nicki Minaj nabbed her first look at the very first Madame Tussauds wax figure built in her honour.
Unfortunately, not everyone is happy about it.
For, despite being the first wax figure released to celebrate a female rapper, the figure sees the star bent on all fours with her derriere in the air.
Now, her Hip Hop sister Azealia Banks has weighed in on the allegedly racially motivated move on Twitter.

Wow, they finally give Nicki Minaj a wax figure and it’s a statue of her bent over on all fours.As much as that woman has accomplished, they had to put her on all fours. Why not standing up with a microphone in her hand? I would complain and ask for a do-over. That’s such underhanded shade. All people are gonna do is go up to that statue and take pictures shoving their crotch in her face and putting their crotch on her butt. That’s not nice, I don’t feel good about that, but if you like it I love it.

But didn’t the pose come from a softcore pr0n video Onika desperately rushed out after her ~serious~ midtempo ballad didn’t perform as well as she planned? Didn’t it come from “the most iconic video of 2014” that was a “cultural phenomenon” that had tons of impact, according to her stans? That’s what Onika decided to portray herself as, and Madame Tussaud’s went with it.

If Nicki or her Barbz are vexed that MT has depicted her this way then that’s their boggle. Tbh if Sade or say, Adele was arranged this way then I could see the anger but Nicki ‘look at her b***’ Minaj.., this is exactly how she portrayed herself. That said, sometimes you only realise how bad you look when someone shows you a picture/video of yourself. This is such an instance. The Barbz can deal and instead tweet Onika to class up her act a bit if they don’t want to be embarrassed by her frankly accurate depiction.

From this link I get the sense that this is what Ms. Minaj was happy with. I know there are major issues to discuss, but sometimes black women actually get to make a decision in their lives and are happy with that.
I mean..I would have rathered her been standing up, like the opening of the video. But it was to celebrate her most highest peaking song on Billboard hot 100 and well. I think its pretty iconic to have a random pic on IG become a Wax Figure. Grizz should be proud also.
