When she isn’t serving as the backbone of many a Pop princess’ career through song the creative force that is Sia can be found pushing her own material.
The name of her latest body of work? ‘This is Acting’, set to find its way to retailers on January 16th.
Fortunately, or unfortunately for fans of Katy Perry, the lyricist now finds herself on a promotional run where she is often quizzed on her experiences with the artists who seek her when crafting new albums.
Why this unfortunate for fans of the ‘Teenage Dreamer’?

In an interview published here the ‘Chandelier’ chanteuse revealed that she was asked to join Ms. Perry in a studio session…but quit less than an hour into it.
Why? Sia says the entertainer was “dominant” and “extremely analytical” which prompted her to leave the session shortly after it started.
However, the ‘Real Problems’ writer went on to add that Perry convinced her to stay and is grateful that she did as the song that was born out of that almost-fruitless session will appear on her next studio album.

I’ve read similar stories of Katy’s songwriting. One band, I forget the name, said that they were in a studio recording while Katy was sleeping next door while recording One of the Boys and she woke up, walked into their session and changed a verse they were struggling with before going back to sleep. Say what you will about her performing skills, but no one can deny she is one of the best, if not the best, songwriter in pop today.

If Sia didn’t want to be famous she wouldn’t be famous so she needs to drop the “stop looking at me” act when everything she does to hide herself actually draws more attention to herself. She’s very talented and seems nice but I’m not buying it.
I figured she doesn’t want people seeing her face, because tis rather old looking and ugly. I mean Pop music fans are not keen on older women in general, but and ugly older woman. Recipe for disaster for a “new” to the U.S. act.
Sia has stated in interviews that she, at times, struggles with mental health issues. These issues almost caused her to quit being in the business. She also self-medicated for a while to deal that that by abusing alcohol and drugs. She also has phobias. The lack of “eye balling” attention helps her cope with her success in the industry. And, yes, she did admit that her “experiment” of covering her face turned out to be genius as it caused more people to focus on her. She said she filled a gap in the industry because there was a “lack of mystery” in today’s artists.
