Regina Hall and Morris Chestnut will welcome the release of their dark and dangerous thriller ‘When the Bough Breaks‘ on September 9th.

The psychological thriller is directed by ‘The Kennedys’ producer Jon Cassar and, should it fare well at the box office, make a star out of the 22-year-old actress Jaz Sinclair who portrays the psychotic surrogate, Anna.

The size of its budget?

$13.3 million.

Hall had this to say about comparisons made between the release and Amanda Silver‘s ‘The Hand That Rocks the Cradle.’

There will always be comparisons but just on its own we’ll be great.  Our director is so smart, he’s done such great work.  I look at it and it’s not just what’s on paper, it’s everything, it’s the whole world of the movie.  It stands alone.  I mean there are things and as an actress I looked – there was one scene I was ‘culturally, I don’t know.  I think black women who will go ‘Laura!’”  I was doing that.  So every culture, it’s just different, it’s a different movie but I loved those movies so if we’re compared to that that’s where I want it to be.
