In less than 24 hours, pop crooner Sam Smith‘s new single, ‘Too Good at Goodbyes,’ has said “hello” to the #1 spot on U.S. real-time iTunes charts.
His long-awaited return and first official release since 2015’s ‘Writings on the Wall,’ the song – written by Smith, Jimmy Napes and production duo Stargate – has also found itself at #1 at iTunes in over 20 other countries including the U.K., Canada, Australia, and more…
Unseating the tally’s former titan, Taylor Swift (and her hit ‘Look What You Made Me Do’), the digital downloads – alongside some handsome streaming figures on Youtube (over 3 million) and Spotify – all set the stage for Smith potentially knocking Swift from the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 after ‘Goodbyes’ first full tracking week…
Smith’s iTunes triumph is joined by new releases from ZAYN and Kelly Clarkson (as seen above). Keep it locked to That Grape Juice to see how they all fare on the Billboard Hot 100 week after next.

good I love his song
Alright I actually like his track as well!!
I don’t like this song. It’s not worth taking over Taylor Swift’s LWYMMD
Not that a brief stay on itunes #1 spot means anything as proved many times before… but in this case it is kind of impressive, cause I thought Taylor was dominating so much that was not a single opportunity for anybody else in weeks. Congrats. Not a fan though.
I love Sam but to say he’s going to out do Taylor is crazy he’s not even in the Top 10 on Apple Music & I’m sure he’s not going to do 300k in downloads & she has two songs out her fandom is split so yeah let’s see if he stays for the hole week like Taylor did with LWYMMD & Ready for it.
Um Writings on the Wall was not the name of his debut it was In The Lonely Hour.
