Much like her single, ‘Underdog,’ before it, Alicia Keys‘ new song – ‘Good Job’ – has become an anthem of sorts for essential workers during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Also like its predecessor (as we reported here), ‘Good Job’ is doing a pretty good job on iTunes – dominating the real-time sales tally after Keys unveiling a stunning live performance of the tune on CNN’s Anderson Cooper-hosted ‘Town Hall’ Thursday (April 23).
See it inside:
At writing, ‘Job’ – less than 24 hours after its official release – sits at #6 on the overall iTunes sales chart and #2 on the iTunes R&B sales chart.
Once streaming is factored, commercial response to the single could spell well for its potential entry onto the Billboard Hot 100 after its first full week of availability finishes.
Penned by Keys alongside husband Swizz Beatz, The Dream, and Avery Chambliss, ‘Job’ is the latest taste from her postponed seventh studio album, ‘Alicia.’ Originally slated for March, the album release was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

dont ya’ll miss braided head Alicia – Diary. Lessons Learned. If I ain’t got you. Fallen. Butterflyz.
She was cool back then, but she evolved with As I Am. That album brought her the biggest first week sales of her career, and the tour was soooooo good!!
That’s right Alicia use the pandemic to try to revive your career! She pushed her album back because it was going to flop the second it touched down.
Exactly. She is always using tragedies for her own gain. She used 911 to promote ‘Falling’. She is not who she pretends to be. She is fake and selfish
