In March, organizers of the annual Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival announced the event – originally set for April in Indio, California – would be pushed to October due to the coronavirus pandemic (as we reported here).
Now, just a day after another of the year’s most anticipated fests, Lollapalooza, pulled the plug on its 2020 edition, Coachella is following suit.

This year’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and Stagecoach country music festival have officially been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, health officials announced Wednesday (June 10).
Riverside County public health officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser signed the order canceling the festivals and said in a statement, “I am concerned as indications grow that COVID-19 could worsen in the fall. In addition, events like Coachella and Stagecoach would fall under Governor Newsom’s stage 4, which he has previously stated would require treatments or a vaccine to enter. Given the projected circumstances and potential, I would not be comfortable moving forward.”
Previously rescheduled for Oct. 9-11 and Oct. 16-18, the acts on board included Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey, and Megan Thee Stallion.
As of time reported, organizers have not issued a statement regarding refunds or transferability of tickets already purchased.
Update: Coachella reveals new dates for 2021: April 9-11 and April 16-18, 2021 and April 23-25, 2021.
“The Chicago music festival became the latest event to be canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot announced Tuesday (June 9) that all special events in the city will be canceled through Labor Day. Instead, Lollapalooza will offer “a weekend-long livestream event” on its scheduled 2020 dates, July 30 – Aug. 2.”

Omg! This is so sad. I’m so disappointed. I guess I can’t get laid with different strangers that I met in the concert. “ My horniness is killing me…. I must confess I still believe….”
Coachella is all hype anyway. Food and drinks are extremely overpriced, half of the shît is closed off to “influencers” and celebrities and the lines are super long to take part in any of the art installations. All that is left is grass, while you wait hours for artist to come one stage and you have to hesitate if you should leave your good spot to go to the next stage to see another artist but you know you’ll be all the way in the back by the time you get there.

I’m sick and tired of all this festivals who don’t care a bit about no one’s health and only see profit in front of their eyes. 1M people infected with the v**** in the US and they’re worrying about artists? WTF the priorities of these promoters are simply money and keeping their pockets filled!
I’ll only attend concerts next year and safely!
