BBC Radio 1 has joined Beyonce‘s ‘Black Parade’.
Full story below…
The latest track to emerge from the Pop empress’ vault is a cut named ‘Black Parade’ which was released to celebrate African culture in all of its forms and lead the way for her forthcoming Disney release ‘Black is King’.
BBC Radio 1, the radio platform whose reach glides over the 10 million mark, is powering the track’s run in the United Kingdom after making it the highest-spun track on the station.
As it stands, it is currently generating more plays than the Roddy Ricch and DaBaby jam ‘Rockstar‘, Justin Bieber’s ‘Yummy’, Kanye West‘s ‘Wash us in the Blood’ and the Lady Gaga smash hit ‘Rain on Me’.
‘Parade’ isn’t the only pro-African love song making major waves.
‘Brenda’s Got a Baby’, Tupac’s love letter to disenfranchised black girls, hit the 100 million mark across all platforms on Monday thanks to 25 million spins generated on Spotify.
Now Brenda’s gotta make her own way
Can’t go to her family, they won’t let her stay
No money no babysitter, she couldn’t keep a job
She tried to sell crack, but end up getting robbed
So now what’s next, there ain’t nothing left to sell
So she sees sex as a way of leaving hell
It’s paying the rent, so she really can’t complain
Prostitute, found slain, and Brenda’s her name.
This, as Janet Jackson’s ‘New Agenda’ reaches the same milestone thanks to numbers accumulated by user-generated tribute videos, and streams amassed on subscription services like Apple Music, Deezer and Spotify.
Because of my gender
I’ve heard “no” too many times
Because of my race
I’ve heard “no” to many times
But with every “no” i grow in strength
That is why
African american women
I stand tall with pride.
Nip that lip like Lipo 🐝🐝😂
Love it 😊
