Dallas Austin produced the commanding album for Arista Records who watched it permeate Pop culture with the singles ‘Before You Walk Out of My Life‘ and the aforementioned ‘Like This’ which peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Monica’s ascent to fame would open several doors for a number of artists and musicians who would soar into the scene on the wings of her success.
Arguably the biggest? Her former backing vocalist Michelle Williams.
Everyone I knew had this album…..everyone. 🙂
Ms thang was my thang, his big thang is my thang, Ima do my thang on his thang. Do my thang on his thang u know I luh this sh#t. (Sorry guys! I’m so High)
I need Monica to find her sound again. I understand she’s 40 years old now, but her music was at its best in the 90s. Her last few albums were duds. Miss Thang is a classic.
I love me some monici play Before you walk out my life all the time
