Watch: Lil Nas X Accidentally Rips Pants During Shocking ‘Call Me By Your Name’ Performance at ‘SNL’

Published: Saturday 22nd May 2021 by Rashad

Lil Nas X made his ‘SNL’ debut Saturday night (May 22), much to the delight of his growing legion of fans.

Hot on the promo trail in support of his self-titled debut album, ‘Montero’ (due in stores this summer), the 22-year-old cranked out the inaugural live television performances of its leading singles ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ and ‘Sun Goes Down’ on the Anya Taylor-Joy-hosted episode.

While the former rode the poles of controversy straight into record books and Platinum status (as we reported here), the latter – released just May 21 – is building buzz for its emotional, semi-biographical content.

Curious about the first live treatments given to both cuts?  Look inside to see them, including the wardrobe malfunction that has everyone talking…

Pants rip occurs at 2:20:

    Damn,
    What is going on?

I hope 10 years from now he wouldn’t look back at everything he is doing now with regret.

Normani has been in the industry longer than lil nas x , but compare both careers today.
Lil nas x doesnt even have a studio album yet.

Lil nas x gonna drop his debut album before f*******.
    We love to see it.

No amount of Twitter hype or sympathy or victimisation can give u a career.

    • akathexfactor May 23, 2021

Imagine hatin’on a Black woman to cap for another wannabe rapper, smh!

      • Clarks0o0ñ May 23, 2021

        Go back to Twitter.
Normani is a flop. An overrated flop.

4 years of going solo no album out

    • Lenox May 23, 2021

Waking up to hate on a talented black woman is sad and means you have no life

      • Clarks0o00ñ May 23, 2021

        Go back to Twitter

        Normani is a flop.
After all the hype and industry support and A list collaborations, the girl’s career didnt go anywhere.

After all the sympathy and pity and victimization, her career didnt still take of.

I’m a member of the LGBT community, and I have to admit, this performance was an embarrassment. I think this song is what’ll end his career. The terrible lip syncing, the horrible dancing, etc. just terrible.

Hollywood and the gay agenda stay winning. They will put all this money behind a gay effeminate man but talented ppl like Gallant can’t get a decent budget. This kid needs to be in school somewhere.

    • Shayla Queen 👑 May 23, 2021

      💯

    • Clarks0o00ñ May 23, 2021

      Who is gallant?
How many number 1’s has gallant given his label? Zero
So why would they invest in him?
How many diamond singles has gallant given his label? ZERO.

      Old town road is diamond
      Panini is multi platinum
      Rodeo is platinum
Call me by your name, the music video has more than 200 million views after few weeks of release.

When gallant does this huge numbers, then the label will invest in him but until then, nothing for gallant.

This is how the music industry works.

      • BOW DOWN May 23, 2021

Hmm…I usually agree with everything you say on here but this is the one time I raise an eyebrow. We all know the music industry is calculated more contrived than ever before in this new millennial age of music. With so many tools, devices, and connects out there these days to manipulate an artist’s success, it’s easy to question who’s really bringing in the big bucks for labels and who’s being used as a pawn to influence new agendas. Lil Nas X had numerous songs released online before Old Town took off. How interesting that the one song where this dark-skinned black boy wearing a cowboy hat, chaps and rapping over a country beat, is that one song of his that took off. Coincidence? I think not. Country music has long been an genre in question where blacks have been slighted and still aren’t welcome to a degree. How ironic that this one particular song became the one song that takes off during a time where conservative and right winged thinking was trying to make a reappearance back in everyday American lives. And then to add to it, he comes out as gay! Jack pot! It was all too easy, not only do we now have a unlikely and out of the ordinary to be pop star who we can use to p*** uptight white folks off BUT we can also push the agenda of gay pop stars being the new normal…as if there weren’t any gay pop stars before Lil Nas X. So In response to the previous posters statement, I think the point they were trying to make was the point of Gallant and other artist alike having extreme talent and being an early favorite in the industry while living their private lives the way real artist do, just for the industry to turn all of its attention to an industry plant 2 years later and sky-rocketing him to stardom with the aim of hidden vendettas to disrupt the masses. Now, is all of Nas’s success the result of the big industry machine behind him trying to use him? Mmm…maybe not. Because I can definitely see a genuine likability factor in him that obviously attracts companies/consumers into him. But does all of it equal up to Diamond and multi-platinum sales? Maybe not as well. Because just as quickly as Old Town road came, is as quickly as it went and there hasn’t been anything released after that to measure up to its fame, even CMBYN is slowly sliding down the charts which leads you to think the obvious questions of payola, bribery, and industry connections being made. And it’s not just Lil Nas that’s being being affected by it, but numerous artist who are current and before him have been and are being used as well.

    • akathexfactor May 23, 2021

      💯

    • True Tea May 23, 2021

      This!

But there is a much deeper meaning behind Lil’ Nas X success. Ever since Lil” Nas has openly embraced Homosexuality, it seems powerful men have chosen to stand behind him & even elevate him. He no longer has to put in the work?

Now more & more so called straight men within’ Hollyweird feel under attack, in their own words. So only those linked with certain Powerful men are being protected?

The Me Too movement along with the current Hip-Hop climate have taken down so many men. The Harvey Weinstein case was the biggest shocker for me & highlights men even more powerful than him.

  6. Holliewuudd May 23, 2021

IDK. I’m gay and I felt uncomfortable. I think it’s too much too soon. I think the set could’ve been a little more tastefully done. But good transition to the more laid back track

    • Ace Blanks May 23, 2021

Yessss this s*** is too much for SNL live TV and I’m gay too and was OVERRRRR IT! He is a horrible representation of us in the talent arena. How the f*** you gotta lip sync these easy vocalless songs. Yea I made up my own word vocalless. 😂

  7. 🍭marilyn monh-O-E🍭(💫Perfectly Splendid✨) May 23, 2021

Disgusting animal 🤮 this nasty f a g is making all the gay black men look bad💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿

    • Ace Blanks May 23, 2021

Yesssss this is what I been saying. He be making us look bad for real!

    • J May 23, 2021

Wow!! YOU calling HIM nasty 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

      I have no words…

      • Shayla Queen 👑 May 23, 2021

Shut up! You smelly sock bish.

  8. Section8DaGreat May 23, 2021

    Stunt Queen 🙄

  9. J May 23, 2021

This is a gay blog and y’all hate his gay ass performance! He actually didn’t do that bad! I think it’s just jealousy! 🙄

And I’ll just say this, one day this man will be exposed for a fraud though. We all know he didn’t “accidentally” rip his pants 😩 Always trying to stunt for attention! That’s the sad part! He has talent yet that’s never enough for him.

  10. Ace Blanks May 23, 2021

See here is my thing about Nas X. I wanted to support him because I’m a gay black music artist aiming to be mainstream too. So I was here for him even though I hated “Old Town Road” I was probably the only person in America who hated that song but I still supported on the strength of who he was. “Call Me By Your Name” isn’t a bad song either. I was over the Devil twerk but not a bad song. But if this performance didn’t show me one thing it showed me that he is a TRAAAAAASH PERFORMER 🗑 Like stiff as a board, lip syncing to some of the easiest ass songs which mind you he shouldn’t even be lip syncing since he ain’t even moving worth nothing. This is my issue with social media poppin people off into music it allows people that can’t blaze a stage to become this big. He probably the worst mainstream performer I’ve witnessed based off this video. That takes me out of him. Both performances were so cringy. Now people see how basic he really is which I been saying for a while. I wanted to support because of him….not because I felt like he was talented lol Just Sad! Definitely lowered his stock in my entertainment brain.

    • wolsinyourarea May 23, 2021

Facts!! He popped on the scene riding horses and he couldn’t be that country rap crossover artist so he/his masters put him up to be some gay pop icon to continue riding the success of OTR. There have been many “gay” artists but he is selling is s** and shock value! Grinding on lucifa, showing his steaming hot abs at any chance (there’s only one britney b**ch) and now a half as stunt we didn’t see a damn thing!!! LMAO I didn’t even listen to his last single honestly. He’s been exposed, fans are gonna be so proud of you? pfft. don’t think so

  11. Dombalo May 23, 2021

Staged. But he looks so s*** in the body and pretty in the face. I would have s** with him always!

  12. Brat May 23, 2021

He’s not talented but I would suck his d*** and deep throat it too😊

  13. Fancy BISH (FCK Maristench, Danzou The Fool & Clarksdump 🤣) 👊🏽💎💋 May 23, 2021

He is definitely going to be my future baby daddy.

    • 🍭marilyn monh-O-E🍭(💫Perfectly Splendid✨) May 23, 2021

Not likely Danzou 69. He swerved you before and he’ll swerve you again. Thirsty a$$ niggà
