Jim Carrey is the latest name to sound off on Will Smith‘s Oscar incident.
And he did not hold back.
Appearing on CBS Mornings in support of his new movie ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2,’ the seasoned actor condemned Smith for slapping comedian Chris Rock live on the broadcast.
But that wasn’t all. Because it appears Carrey wasn’t impressed with the warm embrace Smith received from the audience after his big win.
Find out what he had to say after the jump…
Quizzed about the topic everyone’s talking about, the actor told host Gayle King:
“You do not have the right to walk up on stage and smack somebody in the face because they said words.
On the support Smith received from the audience upon winning Best Actor for his performance as Richard Williams in ‘King Richard,’ Carrey continued:
“I was sickened by the standing ovation. I feel like Hollywood is spineless. En masse. And it felt like a really clear indication that we’re not the cool club anymore.”
When presented with the fact that Rock refused to press charges, the 60-year-old said:
“He [probably] didn’t want the hassle. [If it were me] I would have announced this morning that I was suing Will for $200 million because that video is going to be there forever. It’s going to be ubiquitous.”

With that, what are…
✋ Jim!
We all know the slap isn’t the worse thing going down in Hollyweird. The selective outrage is comical.
I loved the black on black violence.
I bet you used to getting beat 👏🏽
Will should be disciplined. We don’t need this to become the norm.
Jim Carrey understands the assignment.
Yes tell them. Black men are being so abusive💅🏾 I’m worrying how he treats Jada behind closed doors…
I top Will b****
Now go sit on a crusty white turd
That’s how I’m gonna back hand slap Shayla
someone is jealous that Will turned from comic actor to Oscar winner while he’s still doing CG heavy questionable movies this late in his career. yikes.
