As an actor, rapper, comedian, producer, television personality, father to 12 children, and more, Nick Cannon is notorious for being one of the hardest working men in show business.
That hard work seemingly caught up with him recently, however, and the price paid was an unexpected trip to the hospital.
Taking to Instagram Friday night (December 2) to update his concerned fans, the 42-year-old – who has been public about his battle with lupus – seemed to be in good spirits but acknowledged the toll the hospitalization has taken on him physically and emotionally.

In a heartfelt message to his 6 million Instagram followers, Nick shared:
“Okay, so I guess I’m not Superman… I promised myself I would never be back at this place again… But this is a great lesson to take care of YOU or YOU won’t be able to take care of everyone else. Don’t trip though, I don’t need any well wishes or prayers , just some solid rest and I will be back on the journey to becoming stronger than ever… it’s just pneumonia, nothing I can’t handle. Crazy thing is, last night we was just rocking a sold out crowd at Madison square garden in front of thousands of fans, now I’m all alone in a tiny hospital room. Life is definitely a rollercoaster! #LupusWarrior”
At writing, Cannon has not indicated when he expects to be released from the hospital’s care.
