The expectations were high on the December 4 iteration of the Kennedy Center Honors and this year’s guests lived up to the hype.
President Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden attended the event along with many other powerful figures. Such powerful figure was Knight, who was honored after previously honoring Garth Brooks in 2020. Likewise, Brooks returned to deliver a rendition of the classic, ‘Midnight Train to Georgia.’
Patti LaBelle also honored her friend before launching into a performance of ‘That’s What Friends Are For.’
Other honorees at this year’s ceremony, include: U2, George Clooney, Amy Grant, and more.
Go Gladys! Good for her, well deserved. One of my favorite legends, her impact is undeniable.
