The catchy cut has become the first song by a Black woman to place on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart this decade and in almost a decade.
Following just four days of tracking data, ‘Texas’ has debuted debuted at #59 on the tally.
In doing so, it becomes the first song by a solo Black woman to chart on the coveted count since Mickey Guyton’s ‘Heartbreak Song’ in 2016.
The achievement comes as ‘Texas’ looks poised to premiere high on the Billboard Hot 100 and possibly atop the overall Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
This latest development comes amidst mass discourse around the launch of Beyonce’s Country era in the context of radio and ahead of the March 29 release of ‘Act II.’
