Jennifer Hudson‘s claim to the title of ‘Princess of Christmas‘ was given even more credence this week when her debut yuletide album, ‘The Gift of Love,’ was crowned one of the week’s top-charting holiday projects on Billboard.
Debuting at #10 on this week’s updated Top Holiday Albums chart, ‘Gift’ not only shines as the week’s highest debut among female acts on this tally but also Hudson’s latest top 10 print having already placed projects in the same chart territory of the Billboard 200, Billboard Top R&B Albums, and Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums respectively in the past.
Her first body of work delivered to shelves since 2014’s ‘JHUD,’ ‘Gift’ comes as a collection of Hudson’s soaring takes on Christmas classics like ‘Little Drummer Boy,’ ‘Winter Wonderland,’ ‘Jingle Bells, ‘Go Tell It on the Mountain,’ and more while also boasting new songs like ‘Almost Christmas‘ (which features her Academy and GRAMMY Award-winning boyfriend Common).
Executive produced by OneRepublic star Ryan Tedder, ‘Gift’ is a 13-track affair that also lists production credits from Gospel icon Kirk Franklin as well as big names like Peer Åström, James Poyser, and Fede Vindver.
