The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled the nominees for its official Class of 2026, and it’s stacked with some of music’s biggest names – including Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, Luther Vandross, and Shakira.

Moments ago, the following fourteen names were confirmed as the official shortlist for potential induction into the coveted Hall:
The Black Crowes, Jeff Buckley, Mariah Carey, Phil Collins, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, Billy Idol, INXS, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, New Edition, Oasis, P!NK, Sade, Shakira, Luther Vandross, Wu-Tang Clan.
While some stars, such as Carey, have been nominated before.
Indeed, it’s the third consecutive year Mimi has made the nominee tally.
For the 1200+ voting panel, the criteria for nomination and induction “include an artist’s impact on other musicians, the scope and longevity of their career and body of work, as well as their innovation and excellence in style and technique.”
Honorees will be unveiled in April, with the annual induction ceremony set to take place in LA in the Fall.
Serving as one of the most coveted salutes in music, previous inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame include Michael Jackson, Madonna, Jay-Z, Prince, and Whitney Houston.


I would choose Sade; her influence is undeniable, her style is unique, and her sound is unmistakable. Timeless music — I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like Sade.
