As Hollywood mourns the lost of Country Queen Dolly Parton, it’s been dealt another blow in the wake of news veteran actor Tim Curry has passed away – also aged 80.
An EMMY Award-winning, TONY and GRAMMY-nominated star, Curry – most famous for his role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in 1975’s iconic ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ – enjoyed a career that spanned well over six decades.
Other standout roles included the unforgettable smug concierge in ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’ and the original Pennywise in the first screen adaptation ‘IT‘ in 1990.
Curry suffered a stroke in 2012 left him unable to walk and using a wheelchair up until his death on Tuesday (August 25).
His rep, Sean Katz, confirmed news of the actor’s death on Wednesday (August 26).
“Tim Curry, the iconic actor and entertainer globally beloved for his dynamic contributions to the stage and screen, passed away peacefully at his home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, on Aug. 25, 2026, confirmed by his longtime manager and friend Marcia Hurwitz,” Katz said in a statement. “Though widely known for his inimitable, flamboyant characters and colorful stage performances, his greatest legacies to those who knew him were his curious, expansive mind and generous, gentle heart, both of which remained open and filled with anticipation until his final breath.”
