Michael Jackson fans may want to start preparing for another trip to the big screen.

Following the colossal success of ‘Michael,’ Lionsgate has officially confirmed that work is underway on a sequel to the blockbuster biopic. And according to the studio, the next chapter could dive even deeper into the King of Pop’s story while spotlighting some of his most beloved music that did not make the first film.

The announcement arrives as the movie continues its reign as one of 2026’s biggest box office smashes, having already crossed the $700 million mark worldwide.
