The music industry has united to declare that #TheShowMustBePaused.

George Floyd‘s shocking death has sent a ripple wave of fury across the globe and brought the necessity of conquering racial injustice to the surface.

As widely reported, the unarmed Black man joined a growing list of Afro-Americans who’ve lost their lives in police encounters. In Floyd’s instance, Minnesota officer Derek Chauvin rested a knee on his neck for seven minutes – despite audible pleas from the deceased.

Now, record labels – both major and independent – are joining forces for what is being deemed Black Out Tuesday on June 2nd.

Model and TV host Heidi Klum has fallen foul of public favor and it centers on an ill-conceived tweet.

The world at large is in heated debate about racism following the death of George Floyd – an unarmed Black man who lost his life after a Minnesota police offer knelt on his neck for seven minutes.

A growing list of names have spoken up and out, aligning with the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

And yet Klum, who was notably married to singer Seal for seven years and shares three children with him, took a different approach.

Moments ago, the 18-year-old GRAMMY winner shared an impassioned plea to the masses to truly understand the necessity of the #BlackLivesMatter movement and the sentiment it’s rooted in. Particularly in the wake of the death of unarmed Black man George Floyd, who lost his life after a Minnesota police officer rested a knee on his neck for seven minutes.

‘Canceled express’ has picked up a new passenger:  ‘Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse’ voice actor Shameik Moore.

The 25-year-old took to Twitter Thursday (May 28) to suggest Black peoples’ negative (and sometimes fatal) interactions with police forces across the United States could be avoided if they “learn how to deal with police and racism.”

Going on to cite “Black on Black crime” as a topic the African American community should prioritize over police brutality, Moore’s multi-tweet rant even saw him say he doesn’t ‘fear for his life because he knows how to handle himself in tough situations.’

Needless to say, his commentary – especially in the midst of a national social crisis stemming from the filmed death of unarmed Minnesota Black George Floyd – incited fury.

A year after Cardi B slammed political commentator and television personality, Tomi Lahren,’ and threatened to “dog walk” her for her controversial views on 21 Savage‘s U.S. citizenship status (click here to read), the two are at war again – this time over insensitive remarks Lahren made regarding the Minneapolis riots stemming from the death of George Floyd (click here to read).

The police officers responsible for the man’s death are still free and uncharged and, as a result, citizens have taken to the streets via protests and riots to demand justice.

Taking to Twitter Thursday (May 28), Lahren reprimanded the ‘Twin City’ residents for their handling of the subject matter and condemned them for reports of looting.  Her comments landed on the desk of Cardi, who rebutted with fiery remarks of her own.

The pervasiveness of racism has been spotlighted once again in Minnesota.

For, just days after the shocking death of George Floyd at the hands of a white police official ignited discourse about the Black experience in the US, another shocking clip has gone viral.

In jaw-dropping scenes, Tom Austin, the managing partner of F2, is filmed telling Black men that he would call police on them.

His reason? He didn’t believe they they had access to the business building they were in.

This despite being told several times by the young entrepreneurs that they too occupied the space as tenants for their social media company – Team Top Figure.

Much like we reported here, ‘Star Wars’ star John Boyega is among celebrities who are expressing outrage over the videotaped death of an unarmed Black man (George Floyd) by Minneapolis police.

However, his comments have incited fury among the law officers’ supporters.

Taking to social media recently, the 28-year-old tweeted he “f*cking hates racists” – a stance he was not willing to debate.

“This just burns,” he later tweeted alongside a photo of Floyd. “Seems to be a never ending cycle. The murderers need to be charged severely. Even in the face of death this man was given zero empathy.”

His comments lit up Twitter and Instagram, leading him to upload a video dragging defenders of the Minneapolis policemen who committed the crime.
