Trey Songz has been a firm fixture in the headlines for everything but his music of late.

Indeed, a seemingly growing list of sexual and physical assault lawsuits have been mounting against the 38-year-old singer.

And while a number of said suits have been dropped, another has sprung up from Jane Doe who filed a $25 million lawsuit against the performer.

In the re-filed suit, the unnamed woman accuses Songz of raping her in 2016 and uniquely includes a whole host of corporate entities including Songz’s record label.

With that news hitting the wire this week, Songz has spoken up and out.

Rev up those engines because the ‘Fast & Furious’ furious is back with its penultimate installment, ‘FAST X.’

Driving onto the big screen on May 19, the film unites familiar faces with a number of new ones.

The first chapter of the two-part finale sees Dom (Diesel) and his family forced to confront the most lethal adversary yet: a terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who is fueled by blood revenge and who is out to destroy the family and everyone that Dom holds dear.

Jason Derulo and David Guetta are no strangers to dropping songs that dominate the dancefloor. So, fittingly the pair have teamed up again for their new single ‘Saturday/Sunday.’

Released ahead of Derulo’s performance this Sunday (Feb 11) at the third annual NFL TikTok Tailgate pregame party before the Super Bowl, the track follows the duo’s 2018 collaboration on the Gold-Certified ‘Goodbye’ alongside  Nicki Minaj & Willy William (the video for which has amassed over 150 million views on YouTube).

Speaking on their latest offering, Derulo said:

“Great to partner with David Guetta for this new track. We worked together a while back on ‘Goodbye’ with Nicki Minaj so it’s great to be on the same team again. This one is summertime ready. Also really looking forward to rocking the Super Bowl with it later this weekend.”

Guetta added:

“It’s great to have this collab track out. It’s a record I love so much and I think it is such a banger. I’m really happy to be working with Jason once again, finally!”

TikTok continues to gift life anew to many a deserving track. Case in point Mariah Carey‘s ‘It’s A Wrap.’

Lifted from Mimi’s 2009 album ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,’ a sped-up version of the song has gone all sorts of viral of the social media platform.

So so much that ‘Wrap’ has been flying up the charts on a global scale.

Toasting the refreshed interest in the doo-wop flavored track, Carey has surprise-released the ‘It’s A Wrap’ EP – comprised of the original cut, the sped-up incarnation, the Mary J. Blige-assisted remix from the ‘Angels Advocate’ remix project, and more.

Just as she enjoyed a record-setting run on R&B charts with the project’s Brent Faiyaz-assisted cut ‘Trillions,’ Alicia now lifts the lid on a fan favorite from the LP – ‘Stay‘ featuring Lucky Daye.

A romantic gem, ‘Stay’ shines as a love letter to partners enjoying the fruits of an undying love.

East London singer-songwriter Mychelle has been magnetizing a growing audience with a potent pairing of hypnotizing vocals and compelling lyrics.

Drawing on a broad range of influences that include everything from Sade to Folk classics to Corinne Bailey Rae, the rising star has cultivated a unique sound that is definitely hers.

This is especially apparent on her brand-new single ‘Hurts.’ 

Helmed by producer Hugo M. Hardy, the song finds Mychelle musing on a love that has reached the end of the line.

Speaking on the creation of the track, she said:

“This song came together during my first session with Hugo. I really enjoyed working with him as he was able to draw out the indie sounds that I like. Having played guitar and been a busker for years, I’ve always enjoyed mixing the guitar vibes of folk and indie music with soul and R&B.”

The release, Mychelle’s first of 2023, arrives on the heels of single ‘Tightrope’ and her critically acclaimed EP ‘Someone Who Knows.’

Fresh from winning Record of the Year at the 2023 GRAMMYs, Lizzo has unwrapped the SZA-assisted remix of her latest single ‘Special.’

The original serves as the title track of the Houston native’s fourth studio album – which is also home to singles ‘About Damn Time’ and ‘2 Be Loved.’ 

Lizzo and SZA teased the collaboration last November and now it’s finally here.
