Expect to see and hear much of Lil Kim this week as she celebrates the release of ‘9’ – her first album in 14 years.

The project – her fifth studio effort – is set to hit shelves October 11 and is preceded to chart battle by tunes ‘Go Awff,’ ‘I Found You,’ and the recently released ‘Pray For Me’ (featuring Rick Ross and Musiq Soulchild).

As fans continue to get acquainted with new jams from the Hip Hop diva, she’s strutting her stuff on the promo trail to build awareness.  Most recently stopping by ‘Strahan, Sara, and Keke’ (October 8), Kim let her hair down in a fun-filled interview to discuss her new LP, an all female headlined tour she says is ‘definitely in the works,’ and remembering Biggie Smalls’ legacy.

It’s Summer Walker‘s season, that’s for sure.

The R&B newcomer, whose debut album ‘Over It’ (released October 4) is reportedly set to leap over Post Malone and Da Baby‘s sales to capture the top of the Billboard 200 next week (click here to read more about that), is keeping the momentum going by releasing a video to the LP’s cut, ‘Playing Games.’

A fan favorite from the star-studded project, ‘Games’ – which features Bryson Tiller – comes as a sultry, slow jam that hears its performers trade verses on a love gone awry.  Featuring lyrical interpolations of Destiny’s Child‘s 2000 hit, ‘Say My Name,’ the song’s Christine Yuan-directed accompanying music video was delivered moments ago.

Mariah Carey may be regarded as one of Pop music’s most empowering female voices, but – as she recently revealed in a telling interview with ‘Variety’ – it hasn’t always been that way.

Selected as one of the mag’s 2019 ‘Power of Women’ honorees (click here to read more), the diva not only graced the cover of the ‘Power of Women’ issue but also featured inside and reflected on how the beginning of her career was predominantly shaped by powerful men.  Praising present day champions of the #MeToo movement and similar initiatives for gender equality, the songbird opened up about her personal experiences related to sexual misconduct in the industry and how those incidents helped encourage her to lift her voice in the fight for women’s rights.

“I’m so proud of the women who have come to tell their stories, because I didn’t do it, and I should have done it,” she said. That’s an incredible accomplishment.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Mimi fondly remembered her friend and fellow Pop icon, Whitney Houston, and so much more.  Look inside to watch the moving chat:

Atlanta’s Summer Walker is the newcomer on everyone’s lips thanks to her debut studio album, ‘Over It.’

Having drummed up buzz aplenty thanks to her critically acclaimed 2018 mixtape, ‘Last Day of Summer,’ the singer-songwriter sent her growing legion of fans into a frenzy on October 4th when ‘Over’ officially hit digitally shelves.  Flying to the top of iTunes sales tallies (as we reported here), the star-studded project – which features Usher, 6LACK, PartyNextDoor, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Bryson Tiller, Jhene Aiko, and more – was initially projected to sell 75k-85k by the end of its inaugural sales tracking week (which would’ve resulted in a #3 debut on the Billboard 200).

Industry analysts have since recounted that tally, a feat that’s pushed Walker ahead of the race to the top of charts next week.  Placing previous front runners Post Malone and Da Baby behind, look inside to see just how many units the 23-year-old is expected to shift by Friday (October 11):

This week’s episode of ‘Black-ish’ (October 8) brings with it the highly teased and just as anticipated reunion of Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Persia White, and Jill Marie Jones – the stars of UPN’s iconic 2000’s series, ‘Girlfriends.’

Announced a month ago (as we reported here), the ladies have been on the promo trail since the news was first unveiled in support of the forthcoming feature.  Expectedly, no interview to date has missed the opportunity to inquire about the status of a reunion movie or full on reboot of the television show (as it was cancelled abruptly in 2008 with no official finale).

The most recent chat on the subject came courtesy of ‘Black-ish’ resident star, Ross, as she dished with our friends at ‘Entertainment Weekly’ about what fans of the show can expect from the ‘Girlfriends’ and just what it would take to get a reunion movie in the works.

Entertainment mogul Tyler Perry may be no stranger to history-making as the plays and films he’s penned, directed, and/or starred in have made him one of Hollywood’s biggest names in front of and behind the scenes, over the weekend the 50-year-old saw his name penciled in history books for the grand opening of Tyler Perry Studios – a feat that made him the first African American to own a major film studio outright.

A massive complex in Atlanta, Georgia, the lot spans over 330 acres and is larger than the Burbank, California lots owned by Warner Brothers, Paramount, and Walt Disney Studios combined.  Taking to “CBS This Morning” recently, Perry joined resident anchor Gayle King to reflect on his journey from homelessness to history-making achievements and all the doors slammed in his face (literally and figuratively) along the way.
