He doesn’t get enough credit for it, but Jay Z‘s hand in Pop reaches far further than the odd collaboration with his wife Beyonce.

Having ditched both The X Factor and her fiance, Britney Spears is sporting all new everything these days. However, musically, it seems the singer wants a taste of the familiar.

In an age where an artists’ personality comes hand in hand with the music, Jason Derulo has struggled to find his feet.

Sure, while the outstanding quality of his music stands as his saving grace, cringe worthy ‘Boyband 101’ choreography and seemignly bland personality has worked against him for far too long.

A shame, considering the quality of his voice and the Premium Pop nature of his discography. This year, that discography is set to grow with the release of his brand new single ‘The Other Side’.

R&B, say hello to your revival.

Yes, if the last year has taught to us anything, is that the aforementioned genre’s well publicized downturn can be attributed to the lack of ‘push’ behind it. Push, only a select few of its staples can say they are afforded.

Now, by way of his undying popularity, Justin Timberlake kicks starts what is shaping up to be its chart revival with his new single ‘Suit & Tie‘, featuring Jay Z.
