‘The Lion King’ charges into theaters on July 19th and is fast shaping to be one of the biggest movies in recent years.

Beyond being one of Disney‘s most successful franchises, the live-action incarnation of the flick is especially anticipated thanks to the starring roles of Beyonce and Donald Glover, who play Nala and Simba respectively.

With the release date fast approaching, Queen Bey has signalled her excitement by sharing a promo snap of her face to face with her counterpart. Check out the pic above.

The 23-time Grammy winner is confirmed to play an integral role in both the film and its music, with director Jon Favreau confirming she has recorded an original song too.

In the time since, many have commended the riding star for his bravery – vowing to support him whatever his preference. Yet, a pocket of others have pelted the young talent with insult after homophobic insult.

Well, clearly irked, Lil Nas took to social media to clap-back with…

Chris Brown‘s being branded a ‘colorist’ after defending problematic lyrics from his new song, ‘Need a Stack’ (found aboard his recently released ‘Indigo’ album).

As the LP is reportedly dusting the competition in the race for the top of next week’s charts (as we reported here), its content – namely ‘Stack’ (which features longtime collaborators Lil Wayne and Joyner Lucas) – has earned a stack of negative criticism from fans upset with the line:

“Only wanna f**k the black b*tches with the nice hair,” he sings.

After Twitter users brought attention to the lyric, the hoopla eventually reached the desk of Breezy.  His responses caused more commotion than the line.  See what we mean inside:

‘Fresh Az I’m Iz’ emcee Bow Wow (born Shad Moss) has stepped into a fresh batch controversy thanks to accusations of domestic violence wielded by ex-girlfriends Erica Mena and Kiyomi Leslie.

Pride month was chock full of Madonna, just the way we are sure her legion of LGBT fans would like it.

Topping the charts with her 14th studio album, ‘Madame X’ (released June 14), the Queen of Pop ended the month with a rocking performance during New York City’s Pride Island 2019 (June 30).

Lending a 20 minute set, the diva may have opened with her classic, dance floor groove ‘Vogue,’ but from there she rendered live performances of her politically charged tunes ‘God Control’ and ‘I Rise’ (both found on ‘Madame X’) and also a rare live performance of her equally political 2003 hit, ‘American Life.’

“Fifty years, people,” she said. “Fifty years of celebrating. Fifty years of revolution. Fifty years of freedom fighting. Fifty years of putting up with discrimination, hatred and indifference. Fifty years of blood, sweat and tears. Fifty years of not bowing down to fear. We have been on this journey together, and I am so proud and honored to share this historical evening with you.”
